Part way through FL legendary staff questline - No staff anymore? - am i out of luck

Wasn’t sure which forum, so i tried here.

So, I took a long break from the game, and when i got back used the handy dandy, upgrade / clean up feature.

Before the break years ago i had an alt warlock who was doing the firelands legendary staff quest, and is on heart of flame however, (like 40ish out of 250?) however, i do not appear to have the Runestaff of Nordrassil I tried to open a ticket and got “Customer service doesn’t restore items” which i mean fine, but the item isn’t on the restore list either… I can’t guarantee i had it before my break as this was a long time ago i was doing this alt.but just wondered is this quest dead in the water? Is there a way to get another staff a better way to ask CS?

I have searched bank, void storage and mail, but no luck.

Just find a ticket category semi-related that doesn’t tell you CS can’t do something and explain your situation. They should at least be able to track what happened to the item.

I xferred shortly after Amirdrassil released and the currency you needed to complete the quest to get the head enchant was reset and CS gave them back to me after I opened a ticket, which is an item restore. So they can do it.

The main thing I can think of to try is abandoning the quest and seeing if picking it up again gives you a new staff. You’d lose progress, but I’m not sure what else to try.

I wouldn’t hold out any hope for help from CS. If you can’t see it in the item restore, they won’t see it either.
