Parsing in SoD

No one cares. No normal player cares what a 3rd party website says about how they play.

All that matters is killing the boss and getting dat loot.

I mean it’s kind of dumb, but people enjoy games in different ways. I think it would be interesting to make a season where only UI add-ons are allowed, and some limited ones like questy or something.

Basically no damage meters, and no combat log.

That would be very interesting.

Parsing can be fun. Try it.

Its boring to do the same raid 5+ times. Why not try to improve your “parsing”?

Considering the number of times its brought up, I am lead to believe that many people do in fact care.

Parsing is just about cheesing fights and not about skill at all.

Who cares how fast I kill a boss. All that matters is what loot drops.

No classic raid will be longer than 1 hr.

I mostly agree with you! I can see an argument for parsing at end-game, some people do enjoy it and I can understand that. However, our current end-game is level 25, most people have no way of maintaining their mana, or enough hit to actually hit anything let alone bosses. So yes, parsing runs in BFD are just ridiculous. Bring a free action potion and you kill everything.

You’re spinning your wheels saying anything anti-parsing bud, people are just going to call you bad at the game.

So no one can see how bad you’re doing? That’s kind of what it sounds like to me. You sound awfully worried about what other people are doing - much like the anti-GDKP crowd. Just kind of chirping relentlessly about something that doesn’t affect you ONCE AGAIN.

I have the loot. I play the game now to see how far I can take my character. If I didn’t there would be nothing else for me to do.

Who cares what people say on the internet about how I play a casual MMO game.

All that matters is what loot I get because loot is what is important not skill.

Only really the 99+'ers are cheesing. Parsing is actually a good indicator of how well you’re playing your class though.

Notice how in all these anti parsing threads its always someone hiding behind an alt

Love the groups that want you to parse good but then your gear is what makes you parse good…If i parsed good i wouldn’t be running this would I

No it isn’t. And you don’t need to play your class well to kill anything in SoD.

Raids at 60 are 40 man. Half the raid can be AFK.

Not always. If you are parsing grey/green then its a you issue, not gear.

No basically just a filter people like you that have this mindset. Back in vanilla, nobody cared about this. I’m sure there were some niches. But I never played with people that parsed. And still had a great time.

Such a community would be awesome to play with. And you can just stick with key running back in retail.

Its 2024. People care about this. We’re also not doing Vanilla content. The content they’ve added to SoD is harder than any of the vanilla content, and even then its still easy.

The Combat Log is a built in function of WoW
as is recording that log and outputting it to a saved file.

The only thing the third party site does is parse that file and compare it to other peoples. Then display the information in a nice readable format

Nah a good player with bad gear can parse higher than a not so great player with good gear. For the most part.

A lot of parsing is about being in an optimal group though. Good luck parsing high in every random pug you get into.

They could restrict what the log shows or API calls.

It’s not hard.
