parse is one of the only ways to gauge a player. retail uses raider.io/experience in mythic raiding. Every game has some sort of ranking system these days to assist with this. Is Parse wasnt around it would be some other sort of system.

I think it’s a factor, but not the main reason it ruined wow. I think it can do more harm than good. but it’s also like a scoreboard right now for some players, who’s better at dishing out dmg, class, tanking, or healing.
But lets use the modern player, they want to be the best where as the game was designed to be casual.
Right, as I expected. Anyway, as I was saying before then, no one is forcing you to care about parses. You can play the game without caring about parses whatsoever.

Yeah, more or less. Warcraft logs has too much power and blizzard has done a piss poor job of defining what it means to be good at the game.

Anyway, as I’ve said before, which you’ve yet to even refute at this point – NO ONE is forcing you to care about parses. You’re the one that’s allowed parses to ruin the game for yourself.
