Parse help

I parsed 33 in gnomer. This means I did better than 32 people out of 100 in gnomer right?

To me this is actually good to me. There were 32 people out of 100 that did worse than I did.

True, your killing it buddy!

So what do you need help with?

Be on gcd no matter what and do your proper rotation and you’ll likely get all 50-80s from not being afk essentially

Imagine how bad those 32 people are?

Disgusting!

Thats not how percentile works bud. It means you did better than 32% of players that entered the raid, and worse than 67% of players.

yes percent, aka Per 100 (why do you think it is called a century for 100 years, or a penny is also known as a cent which is 1/100 of a dollar)

% is just shorthand for#/100

Do they not teach this stuff in school anymore?

As for the OP, if you are new to the class and haven’t looked up guideson how to play your class I would say 32 is a decent starting place for a beginner. If however you have watched a bunch of videos, made sure to have the best spec you can and are enchanted and using full consumes… then you need to take a long look at what you are doing wrong.

if youre a healer your parses dont matter.

same with tanking pretty much, as a tank you should be around 80~

if youre parsing 32 as a DPS you should post your logs people here will help you figure out whats wrong

Should see the healers in my guild, theyre willing to scuff the boss fights so they can parse higher. Told them their parses dont matter and they had an aneurysm.

The audacity of some DPS. Just stand in the fire bro.

But yeah foreal healers parse worse the better the group from my understanding.

Alternatively you could watch none videos, use whatever spec seems fun or interesting, use what enchants you can afford (or dont use any- almost no fight will ever be won or lost because of what enchant you have or dont have), same with consumes.

Nothing wrong with wanting to perform better but feeling like you ‘need’ to spend alot of rl time and in game assets to make a sweat lord happy is a fool’s errand. If the boss died you did just fine.

This and the fact that you can manipulate your parse by using life tap and the new alchemy bombs

healer parses have never mattered. if you’re 80+ your raid is bad basically

Did you enjoy yourself? Were you able to clear the content?

If so, you did a great job of playing a game

I’m glad you’re happy! Keep having fun!

How much did you pay just to get to raid?

Glass half full approach to logs. I like it

Wp mate!

We don’t always have to look up. Take some time to appreciate where you are and look down. If it benefits race horses to spend time with a donkey then why not people. :man_shrugging:

Despite what the forums might lead you to believe, a 33 isn’t terrible. There’s plenty of room for improvement, but it gets the job done well enough

It’s important to remember that the absolute highest parses are generally gotten through degenerate tactics, such as buff stacking and ignoring mechanics for max uptime. Generally speaking, around 70-80 is more what you’d want to be aiming for

Edit: especially for healer parses, ideally you want them to be low because you only get high parses on healing when the raid is taking way more damage than they should be

So now you think the entire speed running community are degenerates

wow what a statement

Healer parses are almost as worthless as a hunter’s opinion.

As long as the boss is dying and your raid stays alive, that’s all that matters. To parse as a healer means your raid is taking unnecessary damage for the purpose of parsing.
