For those that see all the parse flaming going on and dont understand see below.
- 100%: Tan
- 99+: Pink
- 95+: Orange
- 75–94: Purple
- 50–74: Blue
- 25–49: Green
- 24 and below Gray
These colors can be used to quickly see how a player or team is performing. For example, a 50 is average, 90 is better than the other 90%, and 10 means that 90% of players of the same class or spec did better than the player.
The system DOES NOT take into account properly dealing with raid mechanics, in fact it punishes your rating for it.

People act like doing mechanics will instantly give you a grey parse. Every phase so far I have focused on mechanics and gottens 90s still. If you are getting <50 it is because you are bad at the game or you were undergeared for raid.

SOD parses are pointless. Trying to justify your 20hrs/week of gold farming or botting/RMT’ing for consumes and DMC’s to parse is some truly sweaty Classic WoW cope.
I watched a “top tier resto shaman” spam Chain Heal R1 with all players at 100%, and use Shamanistic Rage on rotation for unlimited mana. TRULY, the pinnacle of skill.
Acting like speedrunning a game like SOD makes you good at WoW. Lol.
If you can clear the current raid, you’re plenty good enough. You can parse 20’s and be successful.

i agree getting a decent parse is easy, however if you are too bad at the video game to do even your basic class rotation then it becomes difficult to justify bringing such players to raid
My rogue’s rotation is literally.
- Wait for HAT proc for 1 cp.
- Slice and Dice.
- Mutilate x1
- Mutilate if at 3cp.
- Envenom at 5cp
Repeat 3-5. (Which is almost always Mut → Wait for 5cp → Envenom)
I’m still gearing up, but I was doing 700 DPS with a Ghaz’rilla Dagger and Lvl 39 green OH.
So long as I’m not losing to the shadow priest, no issues.
(And let’s not get into the mage rotation… Frostfire Bolt and Icy Veins? Wild we call it skill. It’s literally just gear and buffs.)
This is just to say that parse culture in SOD is stupid. Nothing wrong with chasing parses, but thinking it’s anything special is dumb. If you aren’t AFK, there’s a good chance you’ll full clear the raid.
Your rotation is wrong because of wrong runes and you can envenom at 4 or 5 cps.
Do healer parses really include overhealing?
I remember they used to crucify our healers for their overheal % back in the day
Here’s the fun part. I don’t chase parses, because I don’t care. It’s SOD. These days, I have fun my way, and it’s not harming our runs in the slightest.
SOD is chill. We start and finish a full clear in ~60-80min. We have a good time. And then we do it again the next week.

(I’m not playing S4.)
As you can see, I can do much harder content than SOD juuuuust fine. I had my hardcore stint a decade ago. Much more fun to hang with the boys and slay some internet dragons.
When you have unlimited mana, overhealing doesn’t matter. Only effective healing is counted in healing parse. (“Healing Done” is the stat.) In short, Healers parses don’t matter because it’s largely just sniping. Anyone with an IQ above room temperature understands that “Healer parses dont matter.”
In the case of this shaman example, Chain Heal can snipe quite reliably. So, technically, you’re rewarding the shaman for being inefficient. (I play on Alliance with my team. A PUG druid needed like 4 innervates because they no sense of mana management. We ended with the same HPS, despite them getting 2 extra mana bars over me.)
For clarity:
- there’s nothing wrong with chasing parses. But parses are a “Game 2” activity. The game after the game, so to speak. Not everyone participates in “Game 2” – they play “Game 1.” (Game 1 is what the devs make. Game 2 is what the players make for themselves.) But putting Game 2 standards on Game 1 players is dumb. )
I didn’t bring up parses or the difficulty of the content, I just corrected your rotation.
It’s wrong.
It’s suboptimal for maximum DPS. But it’s not wrong. It’s a “dad spec.” Minimum effort, maximum reward.
I mean it’s wrong either way.
You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig.

Thanks to the Priests who refuse to dispel during the Jammal fight because they rather max their parses.
So long as the pig is having fun. There’s no issue. I don’t find grinding out 5000g for DMC trinkets to be a valuable use of my time. I don’t want to juggle Rupture for a marginal increase. And I can keep up Envenom most of the time and score 70+ parses for my item level with virtually no effort inside or outside the raid. Perfectly content where I am.
Oh I don’t think you need to change if you don’t want to I was just correcting the rotation that was wrong
You can play however you want.

Far enough.
I’m a bit annoyed by this Archon addon atm. Apologies for hostile tones. (Not an excuse, gonna put the keyboard down and be more gentle with the key taps.)
As a slight suggestion to increase DPS without increasing the difficulty of the rotation I’m going to assume you’re running HAT and Cut To The Chase?
Swap HAT with combat potency if below 35% crit and use Focused Attacks if above 35% crit.
Won’t change rotation at all but will be a DPS increase.
Rogues are capped on dps because of energy regen and not combo points.

100% parse is beige… But I guess you wouldn’t know.
You’re right I wouldnt know. I’ve raided twice in SoD, parsed just fine, and because toxic people like you I never will again.
