Giving credit where credit is due.
The panel was super informative and really positive. Lots of great stuff.
No chargers did pretty well.
The time limit loot trading thing was the only change, but their GM ticket explanation made a lot of sense.
Really excited.

WHERE IS A VIDEO FOR THE !@#$ING PANEL I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR 20 MINUTES
lol panel was a joke everyone clapping for no dungeon finder. Yeah that wasnt in classic of course no dungon finder trade loot is terrible game breaker, nothing on sharding, nothing really speific just more doubletalk about how ian wants wow classic to be not how it should be.
No Changers did pretty good? We are getting changes left and right. The trade change is just one of many massive changes that is going to have a massive ripple effect on community in Classic Wow.

The technical stuff was really interesting. The rest was mostly things we already expected, but it's good to have them confirmed. They obviously avoided the elephant in the room though (sharding). I think the Q&A is going to be the real meaty stuff.

How? You can o ly trade with ppl who were in the encounter for a short period of time. Explain to me how that is game breaking?
If you think loot trading is a game breaker then you had no plans on playing Classic. You are looking for an excuse to walk away from Classic.11/03/2018 03:06 PMPosted by Orgrmlol panel was a joke everyone clapping for no dungeon finder. It's more of a positive than a negative. Period.

He thinks people will ninja for each other. He must not have been in vanilla because everyone knew who ninjas were. They could not get groups. The only way to fix their rep as a ninja was to go to a different server or reroll. If people ninja for their friends then both will be branded as ninjas. We had no tolerance for it in Vanilla. Go ahead. Ninja for your friends. You will BOTH be black listed.

exactly... looking for any excuse to be negative.
I am also a no changer. But be diplomatic.. do you really expect them to have GM's manned 24/7 to help with looting mistakes? good grief..
Absolutely no mention of 3 huge issues
Itemization
Sharding
Server Population Limits
We really need some updates about this stuff.

And people do not realize that this was a thing back then.
Need for a friend. Open GM ticket. GM gave item to them. Only difference was it took longer.

sharding will likely be dealt with down the line after Blizzcon or during Q&A.
So my take away from the panel is that they are trying for an authentic experience and I am not opposed to the couple things they did mention that will be changing because they are simplified versions of what was already in Vanilla.
The ability to shift click items out of your bank/mail into your inventory. This was achievable through an addon in 2005 so I'm okay with this, it just means a shorter addon list.
And Trading loot in dungeons for a limited window. This was added after vanilla but it was still something that happened in vanilla. He is not lying when he states that you could have this done by GMs in vanilla with a turn around time of several days. Having this feature allows the GMs to focus on real issues and eliminates the ability for people to be !@#-hats and ninja loot $%^- claiming it was an accident. If you are opposed to this change you are probably one of those *!@-hats who plans to ninja stuff and we are alright with you not playing Classic.
That being said I am completely against the sharding idea that was later addressed in the Q&A. I feel their reason for sharding for a "limited time" is illogical to building an authentic experience. I do however understand their reasoning and I will still play as long as Sharding is removed within a month of launch. I am willing to concede a "smooth launch experience" to them as long as they stick to their word, and it is removed shortly after launch, even though I completely disagree with the decision.

Also to address the use of the GM system in Vanilla, yes we did blacklist ninjas, and even with the trade system we'll still blacklist them the second they turn around and trade the item to the person who lost the roll other than them since the rolls are broadcast to the group. This just simplifies the process for those situations where it actually is an accident.
The video isn't up on Youtube yet. It shows up on the Virtual Ticket Only section under the Blizzcon tab under the launcher. It may be up for everyone to see in a couple days.
It wasn't a Q&A. It told how they built Classic, we get to see who the two top guys are (both worked on Vanilla, btw), see how far they have to go, and Ion said what was not going to be in Classic from Current. Myself, I'm fond of his line about flying: "I'm not going to dignify that". His bullet list had "Flying: Come On, Now."
