Please fix this back to how they were. They looked much better before the change. This is just one example since I had an easy-to-use picture of this character. But, some shoulders (especially bulkier plate) look much worse.
Some examples of not only how it just looks worse, but introduces new clipping issues that previously weren’t present.
I also hate how the new position on the female pandaren shoulders are rigged. I have about 15 female pandaren characters on my account in total and I don’t feel like logging into any of them because their shoulders are messed up now. There was absolutely no need to change this to begin with. The pandaren have been a race for over 8 years now, why change their shoulders now??
This issue has also come about for Mag’har orcs, and the male Pandaren aswell. Their shoulder now arch to point upward instead of sit flat to the curve of the shoulder, and cut heavily into the model.
I’m wondering: was this a design choice or was it a bug caused by something else? I find it hard to believe that somebody chose to make shoulderpads hang from our arms.
If this isn’t a bug and was actually intentional, then I hope it gets reverted. Whenever they talk about their code, they mention that sometimes changing one thing can have unintentional consequences. Like, when they were talking about upgrading the default bag. Thank you to everyone posting in this thread and providing more pictures.
It makes some of the more flashy designs coming in Shadowlands look even more strange. So, I’m hoping the dev team will want to fix this issue so that their fancy new armors aren’t clipping into the player model or hanging on to their arms.
This shoulders and helm combo used to look like one solid piece, now with the change its looks plain ridiculous. These changes absolutely must be reverted even if intentional, as many shoulder pieces now just don’t work.
If nothing else, we at least have a collection of panda pics now. I don’t think any of the devs really play a Pandaren so it helps to visualize the problem.
I hope they fix this. It’s going to be a pretty big downer on SL launch for someone like me who near-exclusively plays Pandaren.
Also, I dont have any pictures I can find to compare to before this patch, but the little dangly bell things on these shoulders used to be visible, now they’re inside my arm, and you can kinda see them come out when I spin the character around:
That is quite disappointing. Maints that don’t fix it serve as a good reason to bring this issue back up in hopes that the devs will see it. Since we don’t know what bugs they’re working on or not. Thank you!
Also, a reminder to anyone to use the in-game report feature. I’m unsure if devs read those reports. But, they’re certainly worth making to increase the odds of this getting fixed.
I’ve contact someone asking if they would a reddit post on this, too. They made successful reddit posts in the past and played a part in getting Pandaren racial animations fixed with their threads that got over 1k likes.
Hopefully this gets some attention. I’ve been reporting this on the beta since early October to no avail. But the Draenei horn fix gives me hope that they are paying attention to this sort of thing. Maybe we need Wowhead to cover it in order to move it up the priority list
Perhaps Blizzard will be able to fix it again if they made the effort to do it once before. Thank you for the thread and pics.
I will look into this. But, I don’t really know anyone with WoWHead. I have asked someone to make a reddit thread on it that has had success with it before. The more Blizzard sees the issue, the better. In-game reports and Twitter as well.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH THIS IS DRIVING ME ABSOLUTELY INSANE
Whenever I log into one of my pandas now, I just look at the shoulders, die a little inside and then log off. I just want to enjoy Shadowlands 😭😭😭😭😭
I’m hoping this upcoming maint will be the one. I know that sounds naïve. But, after they fixed the melee racial animations last time (in the same patch that broke shoulders), I have hope that someone has at least read this thread. Worth keeping it in the light so that when they do have time to fix it since their plate is full, it won’t be forgotten by the dev team.
Also, please. Kuudere is about to pop! Ha. I admit that I haven’t started leveling an alt I wanted to play because I can only deal with the shoulder issues on one character at a time.
