Pandaren Shamans and the August Celestials

Hello guys! I’ve been wanting to play a Pandaren shaman for a while, but had a question. I know that shamans typically worship the elements to get their abilities, but would a Pandaren shaman be able to worship the celestials instead? I’m not very knowledgeable on either shaman or Pandaren lore, so anything would be helpful. Thanks!

I don’t believe that all shamans “Worship” the elements per say, some certainly do, but the terms are usually “revere” and “respect”. Pandaren religion is a bit of a question mark, but it’s likely something to do with chi (Spirit energy) and the august celestials.

There are 4 main schools/temples on Pandaria for each August Celestial, one hidden temple(Monk class) and the Shadopan school. The 4 schools revere the elements and the celestials. We see Pandaren elementals who are quite connected to the history and culture of Pandaria. The Celestials have their imprint in how one should act and react. Each temple represents these ideals, and they also tell fables which often have elements in them.

I’d argue that they revere their elements and their ancestors. The two are interconnected and as a shaman you’d be the communities connection to the greater elements and to their elder reverence/worship. Similarly to Asian cultures in the real world.

I don’t think any shamans worship the elements except maybe orcs (and I’m not sure it’s outright worship for orcs either). They highly revere elements but it’s not their religion. A pandaren shaman would still be about the Celestials, they’d just make sure to show elementals proper respect.
