Pandaren racial Epicurean - There's got to be a better way

At least you didn’t lose your racial language. Worgen just completely lost the ability to speak Worgen (Which granted was yip woof bark growl)

Kind of besides the point, but Worgen were just Human. It doesn’t make sense for them to speak another language but Common.

They did put it in game then removed it.

Yes, this has been one of my complaints for awhile now. Blizz keeps expecting us to work on an empty stomach, I can’t do anything till after second breakfast!

As a joke in alpha/beta, I assume. Worgen cleanse themselves of the insanity pretty early on. The Worgen we play aren’t feral, so it doesn’t make sense for them to communicate it animal noises when they can just speak. Pandaren have a ‘language’ that is just ‘om nom nom’ and nothing else. I assume to avoid offending the Chinese audience by not making a Chinese-sounding language for Pandaren to speak. It still doesn’t make sense though, when Pandaren have ten thousand years of their own culture and language.

Personally I got a kick out of it and when Pandaren had “om nom nom” I also laughed. Its just a shame they took it out for Worgen. I mean the muzzle would effect language on its own but hey its fantasy so who knows.

It’d be nice if food buffs were half worthwhile, blizz seems to balance food around pandaren like we’re they average player, so we get a meh buff and everyone else is stuck with almost nothing. Pandaren aren’t allowed to have anything that would make them competitive you see. That’d be crazy.

I’ll trade you my vulpera vial and campsite for double food buff.

What if… everyone got current pandaren food buff, and pandaren got double their current food buff? That’s how it was tuned in MoP. Right now the level 35 pandaren stam food gives more stam than the level 50 shadowlands stam food. It’s like… let pandaren have something nice for once. We got three hairstyles and a new fur color for customization, pandaren seem to never get anything except nerfs.

What about your other racial that works as an interrupt? It’s not as strong as warstomp as an example although your food racial can easily cover the difference in power. Likewise I know blizzard has been trying to somewhat tone down racials for a while. Troll berserking used to be something insane like 20% haste.

As for customization options, I agree there probably should be a bit more for pretty much all races. It’s crazy seeing how many options blood elves have compared to say, nightborne.

I think Ion is the problem. He obviously doesn’t like the pandaren. The devs who created the pandaren have left Blizzard.

You should definitely bring up Vulpera racials and their relative impotence. In another thread. This is about Pandaren’s racial. I’m not even asking for a buff. I just want it to be less annoying to use.

Although I’m pretty sure they gave Vulpera bad racials on purpose. Because… Well, you know.

That’s fair, however it’s a moderately powerful racial and unlike many other racials, is changeable. For example goblins have a static 1% haste which is great for some classes and not so great for others. Pandaren have a changeable racial since you can consume different food buffs. It’s a solid racial although it’s tied to food.

Making it an active would be alright, but please don’t forget you have a paralysis that can function as a kick as well as a good food buff. Pandaren racials are pretty decent, if anything they should just make the noodles free and put them on more vendors.

I don’t have any issue with Pandaren racials other than how Epicurean works mechanically in PVP. It’s nice in that you get to choose your 1% racial boost. But you lose that boost every time you die in PVP, which can be often. And each time you have to reapply your racial, waiting 10 seconds after each rez, essentially making each rez 10 seconds longer as a caveat.

The easiest solution would probably be make it apply the well fed buff as soon as you start eating it. The other solution would be tweaking the food to last through death (and arena) although that might be a bit tougher for them to do.

Overall it’s a fantastic racial, and I do agree that time is the only factor that should be addressed.

Either solution works, I think. Instantly getting the food buff would be nice. I think keeping it through death would be preferable though, so we wouldn’t have to go to Ashran to buy so many noodles, and we could simply pick a food and eat it for the benefit. At least for BGs. For Arena we’d still need a lot of noodles. Which I’d be willing to accept for any sort of smoother mechanic in day-to-day pvp.

Agree that Pandaren racial should persist through death.

I’ll sign for this, would love to see Pandaren start cooking noodles

Bumping, I’d like for this to be seen and considered. It’s a very annoying racial to deal with in PVP specifically.

They could make it where you eat faster instead of 10 secs for the buff you get it in 5. Plus the usual buff.

Having it spawn noodles defeats the purpose of buying food. Unless it is pvp only I may see it happening.
