I’m trying to get into the RP side of things and have a question regarding how Pandaren spirits work. I had an idea where, since Pandaren sort of befriend spirits that then help them in turn (to my knowledge), could I theoretically have a little water spirit pet (the Pandaren Water Spirit battle pet specifically) follow my character around and have their friendship be the reason my character is able to use water magic?
As long as it isn’t TOO big of a stretch I think I’ll go with it anyway, but is this concept feasible in the lore (I’m not super knowledgeable on all of it atm)?
If not, is there an alternative explanation as to why my character uses water magic? Not sure how useful this is but she’d be more of a scholar and would have an interest in finding an “actual” mage to help her grow from the magic her spirit would allow her to utilize.
And I see no reason why that wouldn’t work. It’s a nice connection to have and would make sense to me. It could also set you up for some drama if your water spirit isn’t around and your power is weaker because of it.
I like your idea, the best part about Pandaren lore I think is their emotions coming to life on their home world. In a way this inspires stories and legends among the Pandaren that we hear while playing. Your Pandaren could possess many traits that you could relate to ice and water so much so that she can manifest those feelings as the magic you see!
I’m not a lore master lol! But the whimsy and storytelling is the best part of Pandaren fantasy to me
Yes of course! Those little elemental spirits interact with Pandaren all the time, there are quests on the turtle and in Pandaria involving them. And even a raid boss you have to save.
