Pandaren are never going to get story relevance are we

I like Lorna, not a big fan of Tess after the heritage armor quest line. But you’re right, no one, especially people like me, picked the worgen just to play another flavor of human, even though their Harvest Witches had the potential to set them apart from Stormwind Humans.

I want my Monster Race damn it, no hobo puppies living in SW :crying_cat_face:

There are many races in the same spot . Just check Silvermoon and Exodar .

A tough thing about playable Pandaren is that they’re not from Pandaria. So anything that happens there doesn’t really impact the Alliance and Horde Pandaren. They may have a heightened interest, but it doesn’t affect them personally. And the unfortunate truth is that Blizz has no desire to spend time coming up with stories about the Wandering Isle. I’m betting that the Monk Order Hall campaign was the swan song for the Wandering Isle in WoW’s lifetime.

They did… it was called Pandaria. We spent an entire expac there. I still sometimes visit my farm.

They still have heritage and distant relations there.

I go back and forth on whether I want Blizz to do something big with dwarves and then I look at what they’ve done over the years and think, maybe it’s for the best they ignore important story beats they brought up and promptly ignored. /cough Moira and Magni /cough the three clans getting along without issue

“Spare bacon? Spare bacon?”

Bops on nose “No! Bad! No begging at the table!”

Tucks tail between legs and walks off whimpering FIIIINNNEEEE!!! Be that way than!

Dwarves are arguably in the best state of any playable race right now and I’d argue that’s precisely because Blizzard always ignores them. You can’t have your characters’ personalities change on a dime and your cities destroyed if you never appear in the story.

The last storyline they got was actually a good one in the reunification of the three major clans and the formation of the new clan council.

Blizzard Dude 1: Panderan players wish their characters had more relevance in the story.

Blizzard Dude 2: Fine, have all the Horde-aligned Panderan ruthlessly butcher almost all the Alliance-aligned Panderan. Then, never allow the remaining Alliance-aligned Panderan any meaningful resolution. They just forgive their attackers, because you’re not ‘Good’ unless you never try to force any form punishment on the people who burn your tree to ashes, or sexually harass you.

Blizzard Dude 1: Not bad, but maybe the Horde-aligned Panderan should be literally feeding the souls of their enemies to Satan?

…I feel a little bad that after all these years of genuinely enjoying the game overall, and still thinking the leveling/questing experience remains fundamentally fun through each expansion, I’m still left with not much to post about except how badly let down I am by what we have now. :frowning:

I think the Kul Tirans are the last race to have had what I would consider positive plot relevance? Their country was properly cleansed of corruption and unified in victory. And even then, it’s story is over. Who honestly expects much of anything from it (as a nation, not just Jaina and her family) going forward? The Zandalari meanwhile still don’t have control over Nazmir and Voldun to my knowledge, allied with a morally bankrupted and misled Horde, and lost their king to an Alliance raid.

The sarcasm from their post went over your head it seems.

That was also twelve years ago. So they have very much been ignored.

If the current writers looked to the dwarves they’d probably say Moira secretly worships Ragnaros and in fact always had worshiped Ragnaros right from the very beginning, and also petrifying Magni was her fault. And then she’d make Ironforge Mountain erupt and destroy Dun Morogh in lava.
And Falstad and Muradin would shrug and go “Well she’s queen what are you gonna do?”

And if something like that is the alternative then I’m quite content to leave dwarves, and any other forgotten race like pandaren or nightborne, in their dusty corners.

Except that we know that Magni was playing with Titan stuff and his mineralisation is what put him on live connection with Azeroth itself.

They would also have her join the Horde first, so that she couldn’t be accused of being a villainous Alliance character, thus keeping one faction good and one evil.

Probably not. Even some of the core races are starved for development, not to mention all the allied races that have been added. Add to this Blizzard’s regrets on having a race with members in both factions…

I was about to say this-- it’s sort of like the blood elves where most of BC was about them. That story got wrapped up, so know they’re just vibing as a part of the world.

More Ji firepaw would be nice in narratives though.
