Panda Appreciation (Spoiler?)

I’d just like to mention my appreciation for Ji and Aysa, the Huojin and Tushui, working together to defend the recovering Baine at Thunder Bluff alongside the Highmountain tauren.

I thought that was nice.

They’re actually doing something for once.

Aysa and Ji now fill in the Embassy of their respective factions. Guiding you to get the Allied Races. Which is nice since they’re sort’ve the progenitor allied race.

Those two really need to choose where their loyalties lie. You can’t be boning each other in the background while part of two factions that hate each other.

What do you mean? Baine is Alliance at best, neutral at worst.

You totally can be. In fact it probably makes things way more fun.

I mean Ji and Aysa. Are they Horde and Alliance or not? It’s a bit of a prickly security issue to have them sneaking about in a relationship if they’re going to be prominent in their factions.

Um… This is at the same time as we hair Jaina paired up with Thalyssra, Shandris paired up with Lor’themar, and Anduin paired up with Saurfang.

They’re hardly prominent. Aside from hanging around places, they barely interact with the rest of the Alliance leaders. They might as well not even be there.

Besides, they’d do good as ambassadors between Alliance and Horde.

Glad the Pandaren still exist. So hurray…?

Yeah but at the end of the day they’ve proven(except Anduin) that their loyalties are with their people when it comes down to it. Ji and Aysa have this weird thing going where nobody seems to care they’re more literally than most fraternizing with the enemy.

Yeah I know. I meant if the plan is to make them more prominent, I didn’t word it well enough.

You know, at least one person in the Horde, Ji, remembered that Mists of Pandaria happened and got the hell out of Orgrimmar when the Warchief was being notably evil. That’s at least something.

“He said he’s seen Orgrimmar sieged once, and does not wish to see it again…

… he was almost nearly beaten to death last time, so there’s that too.”

Ji and Aysa are in a weird situation where the majority of their nation, the Pandaren of the Wandering Isle, are still neutral. It’s not the same as a leader whose entire nation belongs to one of the factions. It’s very easy for them to leave the faction junk behind while visiting home. Especially since it wasn’t some giant pandaren civil war that split them, it was a general difference in philosophy that has always existed.

I do agree though that it makes things awkward whenever faction conflicts do arise. I think Blizz just liked the idea of star-crossed lovers in MoP and didn’t really think through the long term ramifications of that.

if only the writers had been able to see the same.

To paraphrase Muhammad Ali: I aint got no quarrel with them Pandamen.

Many people on these forums make jokes about them or say they are not a good fit with the lore. But Chen was in WC 3. I think the Pandaren have a reasonable lore basis and Warcraft is silly enough where alot of oddball things seem to work.

I dont get the derision. But I am easy when it comes to playable stuff. I would be fine if every race could be any class, and I have few qualms about additional races.

Pandas. Walking Brooms. Leaf people who can be Warlocks. Crab people who are Paladins. Im easy when it comes to playable races/specs.

I’m mildly embarrassed to admit this, but I love the Pandas and MOP is probably my favorite expac for leveling.

Oh, the writers remembered it. That’s why they wanted to do it again. They just didn’t write anyone else in the Horde remembering it.

A large subset of MMO players are forever 15 year old edgelords who are mad at any aesthetic design that isn’t either wank bait, or covered in spikes, skulls, and fire. Preferably both.

Remember when people were going wild that Sylvanas’ mid-drift got covered back in Legion?

You could have just said Orc Warrior/Dk mains

Well on one hand, I worry about people who get all hot for a person whose body matches the ambient temperature.

On the other hand, she’s already dead, it’s not like a gut wound is going to really do anything, so why not show off her livor morits-hued belly, I guess.
