Pally seals?

So I been leveling a pally. Love it. It is level 58 as of this post. Very fun! Out of curiosity, I looked up on how I would use my pally in 5 mans and raids and like other hybrid type classes it too seems to be defaulted to healing and or buffs. I feel I waited way too long to learn to heal with a pally in dungeons. So
I decided to just keep it for farting around on for open world stuff.

My question…When are Pallys supposed to use Seal of Crusader? I timed a few fights with it and compared to seal of life and seal of wisdom, it was 2 second faster using seal of crusader. For the most part what I have found myself doing and what has become habit is that I use blessing of wisdom and ret aura. I will judge wisdom and seal command. Maybe I am playing wrong, but can someone or others chime in. I use a slow 2 hand mace, 3.70 speed, with a wide damage spread, 147-221 damage.

Crusader blows, its primary use is actually when you just flat need to hit something that has Judgement of Light or Wisdom on it more often to regenerate more. The JUDGEMENT from Crusader is the important part of it, making enemies take more damage from your spell sources. However, on regular mobs, you shouldn’t bother, it’s a waste of mana.

Crusader should only be judged, and only on an elite mob that has enough health to live long enough to increase your damage, otherwise just use command and judge command exclusively cause things will be dead before the other judgements will help.

Your primary usage for Seal of Crusader is when you are trying to level up a weapon skill that you have neglected. So, let’s say your two-handed mace skill is 250 but your one-handed mace skill is 25, using Seal of Crusader will greatly reduce the amount of time it will take to increase your one-handed mace skill.

Ouranos has already mentioned the other use and that is for judgement of Light and Wisdom.

Awesome. Thank you.

Basically never.

It doesn’t give enough damage boost while soloing trash to outperform an extra damage judgement going out in 99% of cases. And in raid, its not worth the debuff slot.

So you can pretty much remove it from your bar.

You judge it when you are about to have a long fight for the spell damage boost.

You use it to level weapon skills.

You don’t use it to dps unless the target is magic immune.

When you get to really high skill levels you can seal twist with it for a little extra haste, but once the ptr goes live you won’t do that anymore.

It’s a bad seal.

Mostly because it lowers damage. The AP boost is JUST enough to equalize overall DPS of attacking faster and hitting for less vs attacking slower and hitting for more, but originally it just flat made you swing faster. No damage loss. This was thought to be OP so they changed it. Ahhh the mistakes of the original devs…
