Pallor Mortis in Undead Elves not indicative of melanin content antemortem

Did becoming a dark ranger somehow bleach my skin completely? My lips should have turned blue, and I should be paler -yes-, but this isn’t what I’ve observed of pallor mortis in nature. More pale and ashen, certainly, but this is ridiculous.

(Please, in good faith, give us more options.)

I came here to find out what Mortis was doing to Undead Elves. This was not it.
