Paladin’s can bubble hearth at the 1st sign of trouble. No other class in the game has this kind of power.
You sure know how to fight back against yourself.
Yes they are, as I pointed out in my previous post. It must be hard facing handicapped people when you have their legs.
Seriously though, yes paladins are great when played well. So are shamans. Despite these differences, the factions are fairly well balanced overall. No actual complaints in any other bg.
AV on the other hand is rife with imbalances that favor the horde. Chokepoints always favoring horde, terrain superiority, cave positioning, and superior NPC bosses.
Paladins are defensive
Shamans are offensive
Paladins are mostly useful in pvp as healers.
Shamans don’t lack at all as healers or burst dps as Ele thanks to spell batching. Chain Heal is one of the best heals in the game. Totems are useful in PvP, yes Shamans can be clucky in PvE but are strong in PvP.
Being able to purge, strong heals, slows etc are all powerful tools.
Both are insanely strong given the right player but overall I’d take any spec of shaman over ret/prot any day. If you cannot dominate as a shaman than you simply suck.
Ele can do all of that.
Ok, you had pugs vs premades. Woopdeedoo. Given everything is equal, the fact that horde have a 90+% win rate in AV and in WSG/AB it is closer to 50% should show you that it isn’t the players. What is different between the 3 bgs that give such a high rate? It’s not skill.
You know what? What we should do is increase the minimum time in a queue for AV to 2h so that alliance can experience the desire to win just like the horde complain that the alliance lack. That would solve all our problems.
But are they willing to do that in a melee and risk getting interrupted when they try to do anything but?
You can purge, interrupt and position wft without entering melee. Providing an upfront distraction, as you put it, isn’t a strong enough niche. That’s why you have warriors.
In my opinion, Enhance really could have used purge and possibly resistance talents to give it much needed purpose. Ghost wolf could have also used some sort of slow resistance.
I’ve played a thousand plus AVs as a ranker. I spent most of my time going north to kill afkers for solo honor. You can find 5-15 alliance afking right at the start of the BG. But that has nothing to do with the win rate. It’s the cave and the choke points.
Why not? If the shaman gets erased, that means a warrior didn’t. You don’t get to purge/interrupt the back lines unless you spend extra time maneuvering around or actually enter the fray yourself which is really dangerous for ele geared shaman because they can’t do much when interrupted.
Enh would definitely benefit from having lightning mastery even more as the only classes that aren’t vulnerable to slows are …paladins and druids.
Also, enh has purge.
Well, see, the problem lies that 80% of those playing the superior paladin class decide “herp derp ill play RET”, so you end up losing. The reason I play horde, is because we can’t have ret paladins ruining our games.
A comp has limited spots, dude. This system is over a decade old, there’s a reason why every competitive enhance player has conceded and switched to ele eventually.
What is positioning? What is peeling? Your team protects you.
Yes, every shaman spec has purge. That’s why I stated that it would have been nice if enhance had unique purge talents.
no, not viable. Just as viable as ret paladin. Play Elem or Resto or gO BacK tO RetAiL LoSer
Viable but not optimal. There’s a difference. Enhance is arguably more viable than resto for PVP.
Purge is OP as is. No need to make it even stronger.
I have to question what a ele shaman is doing to contribute just hopping around and not being able to cast.
You are the one that said the ele does everything better than an enh shaman and I brought up points that enh is better at. As a whole ele is better in general, but that doesn’t mean it is in all ways better in every playstyle and situation than a properly played and built enh.
What you mean what does Ele do? They have the most burst dmg of any class and can purge. The only problem is since ele is PVP spec, they wont give spell dmg gear to them in raid over mage/warlocks so its hard to find a geared one.
In high tiers of play, you shouldn’t be getting interrupted in the first place. I shot down 2 out of 3 points. The last one was laughable, it doesn’t count in a competitive setting.
Sure thing.
Straight up though.
Bubble is auto can’t die button + bop + freedom.
No pushback
No manacosts
Tank
They’re best support for FC, can’t ever cap a base before they bubble and stop you and wait for rez. You literally cannot lose unless you are garbage if your group has paladins.
ya i like how horde dont know this. one CS every single ability gone for 10 seconds. you just stand there. and it happens a dozen times every BG. and divine shield sure is good. but it lasts 12 seconds then you die. thats it. id rather have a shaman one shotting and chain healing numerous people than a paladin. its just the “grass is much greener” situation from the horde eyes. and the horde have it the worst for sure. they seriously think paladins are better and its quite frankly very cute and naive.
