So they did mages, they did priests, and they did warlocks as any race…
They should also do paladins and druids as any race aswell, im sure the player base will surge high again if yall make some more classes multi-race’d instead of segregated.
Blizzard has said all core classes will eventually open up to be playable to all races, excluding Evoker and Demonhunter.
It’s just more so a waiting game to when this will happen.
They’ve done Rogue, Mage, Priest, Monk and recently Warlock. Just gotta be patient that’s all .
I think all that’s left is Shaman, Druid and Paladin. Arguably the most requested ones .
Paladin I agree with, But not for druid.
The same logic for that applies with paladins and shamans
Shamans uses spirit, element of life essentially. Should undead and those that amputates themselves be using life magic?
And the light sheers and burns undead and void beings should undead and VE’s be paladins?
Blizz don’t care about world building anymore. All the magic is the same now, there is no rules to it, not even soft rules to it. Which a literacy bad.
bruh the moment you could be a worgen death knight was the moment lore goes out the window.
the excuse is that "they are not Gilnean:
except… the PLAYABLE race is Gilnean, which is a contradiction.
Or what about worgs not being able to be pallys?
They can be priests just fine, curse ain’t blocking light powers.
Logic and lore went out the window with races and classes a LONG time ago.
Actually worgen DKs are still gilnean, they were just in shadowfang keep before they were turned.
“Logic went out the window so we should continue to make it even worse so i can play my perfect oc” normies are the worst
All that’s missing is gnome Paladins. It’s proven they can put on plate armor and not fall over.
I’d like to have the racial knockback. I don’t think a dad bod human paladin is too much to ask for.
bruh, this game is FULL of contradictions that break lore.
If you think otherwise, you may want to look beyond surface level.
ESPECIALLY when it comes to races and classes.
This game has been unserious from the start.
If this offends you, by all means, continue to ignore reality and call me a “normie”
Its a matter of art assets tbqh.
Each race needs a mount for paladin, each race needs a totem for shaman, and each race needs a shapeshift for druid.
Thankfully between the three, paladin and shaman are the most likely ones to happen sooner rather than later (I hope).
I would expect shaman to be the easiest to give to all races because they just need totems. Paladins require racial mounts that might be a bit more difficult to design. Druid forms will take the longest if they do it correctly.
Just pretend all magic is the same thing in different colors. The effects and uses of the various magics have been muddled and homogonized over the years to the point they are basically all the same anyways.
But in the case of Undead (and Velf) Paladins. Blizzard actually did have an explanation for that back in vanilla. Something called the “Forgotten Shadow”. A type of Shadow magic that mimics the effect of the Light down to the appearance. This was the lore expanation for Undead Holy/Disc priest back in the days.
Not sure if it actually canon anymore though.
WoW has had too many writers over the years, all with their own ideas of how the universe operates, or should operate.
I prefer to keep the “hard magic” rules and not pretend that magic is use acting like gods that can do anything without consequences.
That is not what shadow magic does.
This is never stated by devs.
The explaination for holy/disc priests is they where not going to remove 2 specs from a class for gameplay purposes.
Forsaken (The faction) priests lore wise had always shadow priests.
It’s just not practical though…
Get up you spineless worm!
Not being able to play a class on a certain race doesn’t hurt the wow population more than like .05%.
Honestly, I could care less, but literally making up numbers to try and support your point just makes you look childish.
The problem with Gnomes, we’ve found, is that if you add too much Light, they go into orbit when punted. Once that problem is solved, we should have a green light on the project!
Clearly it’s made up but it’s a generalization. Barely anyone is going to say “I’m cancelling my subscription because I can’t be a night elf paladin”.
But the OP stated:
Implying that if they add it, it’ll make subscription numbers increase immensely.
