Being Lawful good in order to not lose your powers suck.
And yes, I mean this in the general D&D RPG sense and not WoW’s Paladin that it only requires that you are really faithful to something, be it the Light, yourself, your cause or whatever.

That’s actually the most attractive part of being a Paladin to me, is a benevolent power really that benevolent if you can use it for evil?
At one point during 3rd Wizards released variations for other alignments. For example, the CN version was the Anarchist.
Know what I loved? Blood Knights draining Naaru of their essence and empowering themselves through force and hatred, rather than faith.
Know what I hate? That all of that was thrown out the window in the same expansion, and they became like every other generic paladin.
Paladins in WoW dont have to be good. Before bloodelves were turned into human clones they forcefully gained their power from a naruu and used their own blood to empower their spells.
Scarlet crusade were killing anything that didn’t agree with them.
Paladins in D&D are just holy warriors now. Any alignment can have one.
I mean, not evil, but Chaotic good is fine, you know? I love the Paladin fantasy, but I can’t bring myself to fall under Lawful good.
And there were always those DMs who liked to put their paladin players in unwinnable guaranteed-to-fall situations (let the children be sacrificed to an evil god or save the village from the incoming plague) that kind of thing.
Melee-based clerics were just better all around anyhow. xD
They changed it in 5E. Paladins can even be evil if you want. Would even fit for an Oath of Conquest paladin.
And that’s all thanks to rules laywers and munchkins!
Far as i am concerned. All I want is to look good, get the ladies and have fun. I got no time trying to adhere to something. Partying is my end game.
I agree, blood knight was the one and only good thing about blood elves and they ruined it
WoW’s paladin requires you to eat half your brain and make dumb posts throughout the week.
Also, you have to be dumb all the time.
