Can you please put guarded by the light and art of war on separate rune slots?

Exocist should not be a separate rune but should come as a skill book or be combined with the Art of War. It doesn’t make sense to have two runes to make one spell work.

If not, Art of War should grant pally a buff to instant cast flash of light like in wrath.

The mana to support the class is just not there…

AoW is on paper good til you see Mana Issues up the rear. Guarded is the only way to sustain

But something needs to be looked at here with the interactions, like make Exo free cost or something. Either way tbis wont fix it cus later Consecration and HoW

Hammer of wrath’s biggest problem is that it has a cast time, and therefore interrupts your swing timer, making it almost universally not worth using outside of pvp when someone is running away

Or if AoW is equipped Crusader Strike grants the Guarded by the Light buff? There is just not enough mana coming in.

It doesn’t help that they only gave us 2 rune Slot this phase It feels weird they tried to put this hole Holy shocks sing in the game with not the support to actually let me get work.

Personally I’d like another rune That says our Seals last 30 Minutes and Judgment doesn’t consume them.

On top of Art of war Should reset the cool down on Divine storm and Avenger shield two To give some actual choice.

And I also do agree with the post below the Exorcism rune is a waest of a rune Slot that shood be a skill book.

And The rune that does Thanks holy shock Should effect the damage Of exorcism and Judgment by 20% two and Increase the range of Holy shock to 30 Yards.

That could actually make That build viable and While you’re added get rid of the stupid Annoyance with sheath of Light It doesn’t need to be a buff Make it a passive You put on the rune and it’s there That’s it would be.

At least those are my thoughts.

I agree with most, but my main complaint is still the limitation on mana

With Sheath of Light now it’s totally worth given the big Coeff it’ll get regardless.

Nonetheless we know eventually there might be an HoW Rune: more than likely instant cast and auto crit.

Yea and thats the issue because Guarded by the Light is pretty much Mando. AoW and Martyr still ooms you mega fast.

Actually, HoW has an even worse coefficient than exo. Instant casts are treated as being 1.5s cast when calculating coefficients, but since HoW has a 1s cast, its actually got a lower coefficient.

HoW is same as Exo: 43%

Going to put in my 2 cents here:

The way ret paladin can keep up or do well compared to other classes is if it can constantly be offensive. When you do the math, 5% return does not cover even half and you will OOM after a few rotations.

The main issue is that skills have high mana costs and are needed to be casted and recasted constantly. Seal and Judgement are the main offenders of the rotation. The issue with ret pre wrath was due to the fact that you had to cast seal, then judgement then seal again. THIS IS A TERRIBLE MECHANIC. Why? Because its tedious and repetitive. It does not add any value to gameplay mechanics. It is just there to tax mana pools.

Put in a book to change seal to a 30 minute buff that is not used on judgement casting. That in itself will extend the rotation life by 1/3 at the very least. Bump up crusader strike to 7-10%.

OR you can just seperate runes so we can have art of war and guardian (which is basically a constant divine plea like how paladin tanks worked) or give replenish on Crusader strike…something. This current paladin set up does not work. Art of War is useless, Holy Shock runes are useless, extended judgement is “possibly” good for applying a seal which is still useless. only 3 runes are worth using from p2 in this current state.

This needs rework please.

Exactly, an “Augmented Seals” thing would be very beneficial. CS to 10%, Longer Seals that are not consumed by Judge and AoW having free Exo would save a lot of hassle imo.

I dont recall doing super extensive testing in og classic, but the way coefficients were calculated was cast time/3.5 with instants being treated as 1.5s casts

You might be thinking of tbc how when it was changed to an instant?

With a coefficient like that, youre looking at less than 100 bonus damage from 1000ap, but even with a 43% coefficient, its like, 129 bonus damage for 1000ap, its scaling is terrible

Keep in mind that 1000 ap would add about 257 bonus damage to a 3.6s weapon swing, and this is supposed to be our “execute”?

I tried playing AoW in the raid, it sucks hard like a speedrun to oom.

Well later on there needs to be a rune that augments HoW for sure and Im sure we will get one.

If i were a betting man: Instant cast and Auto Crit.
