Paladin riding trainer mail does not appear at lvl 20 in wotlk classic

After I hit lvl 20 on my pally in wrath I expected to get a letter in the mail to start the apprentice riding quest. I realize that paladins get theirs as a spell but I figured i would still get the mail. Was this patched out or is it just a bug on my end. This quest is still listed in questie so I wasn’t sure.

From what I was able to dredge up, even though it was changed over to just being a trainable spell, it is something that was granted at level 30, not 20?

This change came about in the original patch 2.4.3.

I got the summon warhorse spell at level 20. There was no quest attached I simply went to the trainer. Is this the quest to get your first mount for pally? If so I assume this was the one removed.

I do not think the quest was removed. If I remember right the quest comes up when you hit 60 in original classic. So guessing this is the problem you will not see the quest until 60 since in original classic you could not finish the quest until you hit 60.

I really don’t think this is the case considering I already have the spell and there was no quest attached. You might be looking at the wrong wowhead. Wotlk should have it’s own.

In Wrath the quest was optional but you still could not do the quest until 60. Why it required scholo and Dir maul can not be done below level 60 back even in Wrath. They did not lower the level requirements until after wrath.

I’ll apologize. I did go poking around for the most easily accessible posts since admittedly, my poor paladin is still sitting at like level 6 over there and I cannot speak from having encountered it myself.

I have done both the Warlock and Paladin mount quests back in the day and both required level 60. Originally you got the first mount for free at level 40. You then had to do the quest to get the epic version at level 60 and the warlock and pally versions for alliance both involve Dire Maul. So no way before the level squeeze could you do that or get the quest prior to level 60

Can you let me know if you get the mail in your inbox after you hit 20. You should get it if you go to your starter zone right after you hit 20 and travel there for a few minutes. According to the wotlk wiki anyways

Ironically enough I was whining a bit ago about being tired of leveling the same stretch in retail for the umpteenth time. I’ll poke at my poor neglected paladin on Classic for a bit. I’ll let you know once I hit that mark, for sure!

The first pally mount was never a quest, You just get it from the trainer. The quest is for the epic version. Also possible by wrath that this quest was optional that you could still get the mount from the trainer or I should say spell more then mount.

Originally the first mount you got at level 40 and then you got the quest at level 60 for the epic version.

You can now only do the quest to get your charger if you already have in your quest log. It will give you a Feat of Strength for doing so.

If not, then your only choice is to learn it from the trainer which will not give you a feat of strength.

Believe he is talking about doing it in classic wrath. This might be the case in live but I think the quest is still available in wrath

//wowpedia. fandom. com/wiki/Summon_Charger, according to this the quest was removed in cata. So those playing wrath classic it was still in game.

I just hit 20 on WotLK Classic, once I went to the riding trainer and learned the training, the mount showed up in the character tab. Hope this helps future people with the same question.
