I know I will sound like a big cry baby here, but this is a serious issue in game design…
I just did solo shuffle on my ret who I just finished leveling to 70 a few days ago. I had a holy pally on my team for the first 3 games, and then the priest healer on my team the last 3 games. Let’s just say the priest went 6-0, because they counter paladins way too hard… Once I was with the priest, we simply rushed the holy pally and we won all three of those games bc the priest just instantly removed his bubble… The DPS were a frost mage, MM hunter and arms war. First 3 games, I use bubble from almost dying, and it instantly gets removed… a 5min CD…, 30seconds go by (because for some reason paladins have to wait 30seconds before I can use another one of my Def CDs? What other class has to do this??), I use BoP… a 5 min def CD, and it instantly gets removed… How is this fair in even the slightest??? My ONLY other def CD is a 1.4min CD 20% dmg reduction for 8seconds, and Lay on Hands, a 7min CD that ALSO canNOT be used within 30seconds of Bubble or BoP… Which 1min into arena only does like 30-40k heal IF I don’t have MS on me because of how dampening ramps… Rets healing is quickly countered by dampening, so I literally have ZERO def CDs when fighting a priest??? Or warrior for that matter with shattering throw… I’m sure mages have a hard time against priests too…
I cannot think of any other class that COMPLETELY gets their big defense CDs removed completely instantly like this???
Forbearance is also a very outdated mechanic… What other spec has to have a 30second CD between using Def CDs? especially ones that can be removed instantly??

Could you not have just posted this in the other giant thread making this asinine request

Asinine??? Have you ever played paladin? If so you would 100% agree that it is asinine that your def CDs can instantly be removed…

no its fine, the problem is hpal is just weak and there’s spriests everywhere.

Eh disagree with shattering throw being removed. It has a somewhat longish cast time and a longish CD. HoJ the warrior and gallop around a pillar or something.
Ret has issues but shattering throw is a good counter for bubble esp considering we don’t have a damage penalty during it like we used to

Shattering Throw feels like something that’s always taken into account when using Divine Shield. Either the Paladin is near a pillar and can run line, they warstomp it, have their teammate cc it, etc.
Similar thing with rogue/mage. The cast time is just so long.

if MD had the same cast time as shattering there wouldnt be any paladin threads crying about MD

Do you think being able to be completely immune while still having full offensive capabilities is fair?
monk touch of karma gets removed by bop iceblock and bubble
wait nvm touch of karma isnt even considered big anymore xd lol
The game isn’t balanced around Solo Shuffle (yet). Complaints like this are dumb.
Doubt it. Fast MD has existed for more expansions than it hasn’t. It is not some new tech that needs balancing.
What’s happening is a combination of (1) spriests having hitherto been fotm and overrepresented, with that probably lessening as they’re nerfed, (2) hpal being relatively weak, and (3) people fotm rerolling ret then realizing their no drawback immunity actually has a counter.
Yeah I play resto shaman and my cooldowns literally get targeted globalled because they are totems. With the exception of Ascendance which heals into the wrong target 50% of the time and is garbage.
If they remove counterplay to bubble the only way to balance it will be to make it severely reduce healing/damage output.
Can’t have it both ways. Pick your poison.

No, I am 100% sure all paladins would take a 50% dmg reduction or even no DMG so we could just heal up during bubble rather than having NO defense at all… Can’t take advantage of doing full dmg during bubble if it gets removed everytime anyways.

I’d be happy with a damage penalty if it meant bubble was an actual defensive. It feels horrible knowing that because a priest is around, you’re basically fighting without any reliable defensives.

Yeah I could agree with that, if they remove bubble, at least we could BoP 30 seconds later. I think the main issue is that BOTH can be removed… Bop has always been purgable, even bubble has been mass dispellable since wrath I believe, but it was a different game back then, with more RPG thought put into class design… Forbearance and bubble by today’s standards relating them to all the other classes is just outdated
Md and shattering throw are fine. People whining about non issues.
Completely agree it’s really bad and unfair game design
Pretty sure I just watched a Ret @ 2900 MMR 2 hit 2 people for a double kill. Think you guys should just do more damage and therefor negating your use of defensives :^)

Bro you are so right. I have a 70 WW monk too, had not played him since MoP… I always bop off karma, so I see what you mean… From playing both I would say rets are easier to kill than monks, since we can’t kite/port around, but no you’re right, it is kind of silly that karma can be removed so easily… It should be more punishing to where you just STOP attacking the monk when he uses it imo.

I already made a post about MD not that long ago. Apparently people think that a basically instant cast MD is ok for the game when it counters 3.5 minute CD’s. I gave up trying to get anywhere with the logic.

Level up to lvl 70 and play some arena, then you may have an opinion from a paladin pov XD LOL
