Paladin or Shaman?

Sounds like a good S/O. Tell’em, King’s Honor!

We got to get Alliance more in this mentality than trying to reciprocate the same thing Horde does. It often doesn’t work.

If I was limited to those two? I’d play ESO.

If it was only Classic then Shaman for sure but knowing what will happen over the next decade and a half, provided I can only play 1 class Paladin for sure.

Is this a joke? Anyone saying Shaman is nuts, shamans gets roflstomped by everything, including paladins…

A shaman doesn’t lose to Paladins. A geared elemental shaman doesn’t lose to much honestly. They’ll shock you to death and good luck if they get off one clear casted chain lightening that crits. Respectable armor with a shield and 10% less elemental damage taken.

Shaman are legit, probably going to roll one as my alt

Before the Shaman vs Paladin squads get out of hand.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses. However, the one thing Paladin has always had over Shamans is their Blessings.

Most of which can offset Shaman totems as totems are vulnerable to mere autoattacks. Only a few can remove Paladin buffs.

Couple that with Paladin being heavy rolling plate wearers, they have a slight advantage over Shamans whose primary is being able to use WF and wolf form in a bind to move and heal.

Paladin is the route IMO.

Sorry but other than popping a CD and instant critting someone you’re just getting CC’d as a shaman over and over again. It is not a fun PVP experience.

Gotta say you picked a great shaman name too. Im a little jelly =P

No Avenger’s Shield, no buy. Therefore, Shaman.

Seriously, Paladins got fun for me only when Protection became a thing in Burning Crusade.

Paladins are significantly more powerful in raids.

Shaman are generally better in PVP, and often more useful in dungeons.

Shaman are way more fun.

Blessing of Salvation is the best buff in the game. all dps can go 30% harder. Shamans have a threat reducing totem but its Air and would have to pick between that and windfury. We know how that goes.

Hey, everybody, it’s Jonathan here (OP). Loving my shaman so far; been healing RFC on her. She’s half to 14, and I’m planning on healing my way to 60. Thanks again for the input, everybody. I have a 16 dwarf paladin that I’ll likely get around to leveling eventually. I think she’d be a fun healer, too.

Depends. If you wear Tevas and compulsively use hand sanitizer, play a paladin. If you’re a badass, go shaman.

for the horde

Paladin is better at everything but burst damage, shaman is the king of that. Shaman is still my favorite class though.

Personally for me it’d be paladin. Especially in classic. I love their durability and utility. If you actually know how to use all of their abilities, they are extremely versatile and fun. When I go into dungeons I fill any role needed. DPS might not be the highest but I can fill a support role quite well.

Shaman would run out of mana trying to control the fight before the Paladin ran out of cooldowns and heals.

If by “geared” you mean endgame an equally equipped Paladin would be running in avengers and Naxx drops lopping off heads with corrupted ashbringer.

Shaman totally destroys paladin

Spent months on the pvp henhouse server, many paladins just refused to duel shamans because they knew they would lose if the shaman wasn’t terrible
