Paladin Mounts

Why is there a delay on unlocking paladins for all races? Blood Elf still has the ugly horse but red why cant you just give every race the ugly horse and slowly give everyone a racial mount (Starting with blood elf)

The new lynxes would be an amazing blood elf paladin mount, or i guess a hawkstrider

Lore-wise paladins are too much work.
Asset-wise paladins are too much work.
Animation-wise paladins are too much work.

Section about all races/all classes is from 11:42 to 12:24.

Section discussing all races/all classes is the second question under Classes

Both mention paladins specifically.

(Edit: It was the second question under Classes, not the first as I first stated. The first question is on allied races.)

What animations does paladin use? Their blade of jutice/wake of ashes/TV animations all races already. The only assest they use is the mount, which was the same horse shared by everyone and blood elf still has. The LORE means nothing as lightforge draenei can be both lock and DK and even EARTHEN can be DK??? Also all races can be priest. Paladin is literally priest with some heavy armor.

the blood elf charger is the best charger in the game.

the alliance paladin charger is the second best ground mount in the game.

Don’t you dare replace my mount. I love my horse.

People have asked for it not to be replaced, so that may have something to do with it. Iconic to us now, imo.

As for why they haven’t given everyone Pallys… because they haven’t. They’re busy doing other stuff.

And I don’t want it half baked.

Who has to replace it? Simply ADD another mount?

Hey, I am just reporting the facts as presented by Blizzard in the above interviews.

You are not getting all races/paladins at this time.

But you are getting them eventually.

And it is not as if not having all races/paladins makes the game unplayable. There are presently over 100 race/class combos which should be enough for anyone.

Personally, if they absolute have to go further down this homogenizating road, I am glad they are at least trying to avoid doing some slipshod job on these ones.

just give us a random mount until later
same with shammys and druid lol

Homogenization for having more variety? Lol. Druid and paladin both have very limited races. Paladin is basically human short human human with pointy ears another short human troll and cow. Druid is even worse as no horde druid can wear shoes. Shaman totems were also all the same before much later. They could easily just use the horde symbol ones and the earthen ones for alliance and limit druid forms to the ones from emerald dream and slowly add them instead of gate keeping the races the entire time.

They already have some unique assets. The Dark Iron ram looks sick.
Lightforged have some gilded ruinstrider.

The blood elf and draenei have the old steeds from BC so its a little outdated looking.
I am sure they will work on it

Well, they’re not, so you are just going to have to deal with it.

Strongly, strongly disagree with you. Best Paladin mounts are those that aren’t boring horses.

What they need to do is allow Paladins to pick a mount like Druid forms with color variations for transmog sets.

All he seemed to say about it is what we already know. Some in-game lore needs to be setup (arguably already has been what with Tyrs Hand resurrecting) and the cosmetics need to be made. As far as I can tell, that’s it. If they make the mounts, then all that’s left is 15min worth of questing and hey presto! Paladins for all.

TBH shamans might take a bit more effort since there isn’t as much lore ground work made for them to roll out to other races. There’s the order hall thing but it would need to be fleshed out more to explain why other races could join.

Druids are by far the most difficult out of the three. Far more cosmetics need to be created as well as more in-game lore. Although I suppose you could shortcut the lore requirements by leveraging some random story from the ED that we have in-game already.

Edit: I forgot about the animations. Not sure how big a deal they are.

And the animations.

That is specifically mentioned in relation to paladins in the second post I linked.

Look, you folks can speculate all you want but this is what Blizzard has stated so it is the reality of the situation and everyone is just going to have to live without all races/all classes at this time.

They are coming.

Just not at this time.

Ok I forgot that. But honestly I don’t understand it. What is so difficult about paladin animations compared to warrior? At the end of the day, they both just spell affects.

Michael Bybee:
Yeah, I hear you. I think a Vulpera Paladin would be really cool. You say race restrictions, we say a bunch of extra animation and artwork that we have to do to make that work for a Vulpera Paladin. Unfortunately, especially Paladins and classes that have a lot of extra abilities, it does require work from the team to be able to make that work. Every time we talk about it we feel super passionately about making that. But at this time, we are actually not ready to announce any additional Paladins or other class extensions beyond what you’ve currently seen.

Yea fair enough. Paladin does have more animations than warriors do. Although I see no reason why they can’t roll them out in batches. Maybe nelves and velves. Velves should be pretty easy since no new animations need to be created for them.

That video is 2 years old and is specifically preparing for a 10.0.0 release. They also cite Warlocks as being difficult. Which, of course, they’ve already done. Void Elf Paladins are in so they’ve started to seed the lore. This is probably sooner than folks think.

Goblin Paladin Mount should be the single easiest mount to make on that bucket list.
