Causes Forbearance
Actually makes a lot of sense, lore-wise. Paladins ressing people in battle, yeah. Cool.
Super stoked if itâs true.
Iâd rather see group utility over brez. Engineering as said before makes this pointless and if they give Pali brez:
- what do we lose in place of this?
- Doesnt change anything in regards to Ret being brought into content. Holy and Prot will be able to do this too and more useful currently in content. Also if they give ret just a brez, just take a dk. or a rogue / warrior with engineering.
- Want to bet they make it cost 5 HPower⌠LOL!
We probably lose one of the filler talents in the general tree, which is fine. We got a lot. Hoping for some kind of group utility though, yeah.
True, thou it doesnt solve or address any of the issues that have been brought up on the forums currently facing Paladin.
They can take out one of the damage talents for useful group utility in the Retribution tree. Thatâd be perfectly fine with me lol. It feels like they can do more with Paladins so I hope they keep working on it.
As we discussed on the Paladin Discord , engineering brez is indeed available to all but come with drawbacks.
- Physically moving to your target
- Massive loss of uptime for any melee character
- Can fail
- Cost materials/gold
Having it baseline in our kit means widespread recognition that it is a tool available to us.
It doesnât solve core issues that ALL our specs currently have with the actual build but it IS a thing that WILL get us invites, specifically in M+.
They still have to address things like Ret aura not being an aura and the Class tree being inflexible and riddled with throughput instead of utility but Brez is a very good thing.
Indeed they dont.
You didnât/hadnât specify rated pvp though lol
I donât disagree with anything you have put here, it is a great thing and the class trees should be less throughput and more utility but my worry is what we lose utility wise to gain this.
I rather see blessings make a return. The main tree get an entire overhaul and see some changes to all the spec specific trees.
Look, my opinion of course, but all of these drawbacks you listed, do not move the needle enough for me to be excited about a paladin brez
Only an issue if a non melee party member dies. You can play around the fight to time the rez with less movement. Itâs not always a must respond immediately thing
Which is only dramatically impactful during cooldowns.
Which is more likely to cause you to fail a key? 6 seconds downtime because you had to go rez someone, or a dead dps during a boss and no brez because you dont have engineering
Yeah, I hear at a rate of about 1/100 though. Hasnât failed me this season in about 30 casts. The possibility is there, but still is not an argument to not have engineering rn if you care about having a brez
Negligible. Lump it in with your other consumes
All of these points you make are simply stating the obvious, youâre not even trying to convince me of anything. Yes, itâs better to have a ranged BREZ that doesnt have a small chance to fail. And yes it will help with the LFG clown show, since people canât be bothered with engi brez. This is no-contest type of input.
But the point is we already have access to battle rez through engineering (as will every player in the game come DragonFlight) so Iâm not thrilled with the prospect of brez when we could have some other kind of utility, like bfa blessing of wisdom/kings.
yeah sure is, which is why you take engineering for it.
now if they remove brez from professions, then it gains enough value for me to start to care. until then, well, i guess some of us can be happy with it
Is this another example of getting something we didnât ask for, while what we ask for doesnât happen? lol
Thatâs true, but it was pretty self evident. Random bgs really donât matter for much in the scheme of thing, the game has basically moved past the point where they were an important aspect of the game a long time ago.
Blizzard: âLet them eat cake⌠and let them ride pony!â
I can only see this as a good thing. Like my argument for paladins to be the jack of all trades. It does alleviate some pressure from smaller guilds who might have to pug these buffs and abilities.
Iâll take it no question.
Sounds cool but this will mean that all specs get it and thus doesnât change any of the problems ret currently has for raiding. We get a little bit more desirable for M+ though which is nice.
I actually think a Brez counters the current Paladins kit and theme for the overall class. It really muddies the water with Retribution Aura, SoV, BoSac, Recompense, and LoH.
Personally I would much rather have LoH baseline than Brez because itâs a more interesting and fun ability to press.
With that though, Iâd be curious to know what people thought about giving Paladins a Blood Lust instead.
What if Paladins got Fanaticism, Blessing of Kings, or Blessing of âwhateverâ that acted like a Blood Lust and Dracthyr got the Emerald Dream infused Brez ability?
Perhaps a little Scarlet Crusade theme? Or the stupid pony, leading the charge? idk
Hunters/Shaman/Dracthyr all got lust, should it go to other âarmor types?â
As long as it makes Ret get faster invites to M+, anything would be good.
I think if paladins have to lose something for it, then Lay on Hands would be a good candidate. In fact they could keep the name Lay on Hands and change its effect to a Battle Resurrection. Also Paladins wouldnât lose that much(other than self use) with a change like this, as both abilities save someone, one just saves them after the fact and probably wonât cause Forbearance.
