Paladin is stupid for a lot of reasons but I don’t know if it’s offensive bubble.
You aren’t wrong about it being the class for people who had trouble figuring out bm hunter pets, though.

it’s stupid on a conceptual level
the original design intent of bubble was to protect the paladin
having an immunity and no way to interact with the paladin while they faceroll damage is bad design
maybe it’s not a huge deal in organized high level pvp but still, it bothers me on a primal level
Ye, it’s annoying in casual context but ret in particular was designed for people who couldn’t win without three lives but also lack the ability to play rogue or mage.
Ret players alt f4 or leave a game before you can kill them and therefore didn’t actually beat them. Yep.

Ret is insanely OP 1v1 right now and it’s obviously really ruffling some feathers for the standard player. With that said it’s actually not completely broken in 3’s so I wonder if it will get nerfed. We’ve been told by Rogues and Mages for the last 20 years the game isn’t balanced for 1v1 but I wonder if it kinda/maybe will be since it’s now Ret running the show? Devs might cave to the outcry. Then again MM has been absolutely decimating BG’s for a couple of years and nothing has come of that.
Ret is always good 1v1 it just requires little to no finesse.
Oh, heavens, no. Maybe if it were dk, a tank spec or aug.
I think no dampening Lay and no Forbearance Bubble is kind of a lot. If they keep those, Paladin should do half DPS in Bubble to compensate.

Would lose to a lot of specs prior to the forebearance and lay changes. There’s been quite a few 1v tournaments over the years (at times with questionable participants I admit) and it’s never fared well. Seen it lose a billion times in Durotar and watched Vanguards lose 1v1’s in arena doing skirm weekly quests and 2’s. It just always dumped on stuff like War really.
A damage debuff in bubble is a super interesting idea.

Yea and it’s annoying the only spec in the game that has a chance against them 1v1 is a SP.
Every other spec gets destroyed easily.
There was a period of time where this was a thing. Think it was a 50% damage debuff. Don’t remember which expansion it was though.

You are not wrong sp is alot stronger 1v1 than i expected. The amount of paladins ive seen die thinking they are ok lately has been nice to watch tho. Mass dispel mvp.
I thought it was more that Shadow is more durable than tank specs
maybe tho i havent played a tank in pvp this xpac. def the most durable class ive played so far this season. Well when it comes to just straight facetanking people anyhow.
Not doing full damage in bubble is probably a good idea for pvp now that you can press it off forb. It was mainly removed back when it was pretty much rets only real defensive. But now ret has too many. However I feel like unless they can add in a pvp specific modifier it won’t happen for the pve reasons.
I thought the exact same thing about PvE. A debuff modifier in PvP doesn’t seem completely unreasonable imo.
