Paladin for All Races

Let’s go.

Gnome Paladins
Lore: Gnomes have been using the Light for a while now and have always produced capable warriors. Wouldn’t they be smart enough see how effective the combination of those two has been for other groups?
Mount: How would they use the Light as an energy source for a mechanostrider? Maybe using Light crystals like what the Draenei and Arathi use amid the robotics.

Night Elf Paladins
Lore: Let Blizzard use this as their outlet for all the Elune they could ever want until they have their fill. Let them go all out like they clearly want to.
Mount: The most Elune-y nightsaber possible.

Worgen Paladins
Lore: Paladins are a big part of human culture in general, so I feel like it should be a thing in Gilneas too. They could be also used to explore the more negative aspects of the Light through their aggression.
Mount: Carriage. Nothing to do with Paladins I just think a Gilnean carriage like that one quest would be cool then you can throw some Light motif on it.

Pandaren Paladins
Lore: Pandaren seem to also have a relationship with the Light, and have cultural tendencies toward several Paladin-adjacent ideals. Anduin learned from Chi-Ji, and the Scarlet Crusade has Monks. Maybe there’s room for crossover there.
Mount: Maybe a dragon turtle that has influence from one or more of the August Celestials.

Orc Paladins
Lore: A controversial but necessary one for “all races.” There’s gotta be room for drama with how iconic Paladins are for Humans, and Orcs defiantly claiming their own version of the identity.
Mount: Whatever reference to the Light it contains, the wolf could have a strong visual connection to Orc culture.

Troll Paladins
Lore: There’s a few Loa shown to have a connection to the Light, shown primarily with Rezan but their diversity (along with Chi-ji also being a Wild Gold like them) implies the potential for more Light-wielding Loa for the Darkspear to draw from.
Mount: Their mount should be the same type of animal as their primary Loa, whatever that is, to show that connection.

Goblin Paladins
Lore: With Gazlowe very interestingly introducing some more depth to Goblin lore, what if they continued that with Goblin Paladins that similarly act altruistically as a way to contrast the rest of Goblin society. Goblins think they’re weirrrd.
Mount: If these goodies are rebelling against Goblin society, what’s the opposite of the standard trike? A clean one. Specifically, a solar powered trike, as funny and/or aesthetically pleasing as desired.

Undead Paladin
Lore: There’s a million reasons for the Forsaken of Lordaeron to decide to become the same type of heroes from their former life, even with the very edgy (and sick) caveat that it causes them pain as if they were burning.
Mount: Would it be too messed up, even for the Forsaken, to use holy magic on an unwilling, undead creature? Maybe not, but if that’s too messed up for Paladins, some workaround could be done. OR, once again, more edginess for the Light.

Dracthyr Paladins
Lore: There are a few, not many, but enough connections between the Titans and the Light to warrant this imo. These guys could go in depth with those connections.
Mount: If a holy/titan themed vorquin is too boring, maybe holy/angelic wings for when they soar?

"Have Gun Will Travel reads
the card of a man
A knight without armor in a
savage land
His fast gun for hire heeds
the calling wind
A soldier of fortune is the
man called… Paladin

Paladin, Paladin
where do you roam
Paladin, Paladin
far, far from home" - Johnny Western, Sam Rolfe, Richard Boone

Uh, you forgot Void Elf
It will be fine once Alleria figures out how to make it work with Turalyon.

I didn’t include any of the races that already have Paladin, like Blood Elves. (But looks like they actually do have one in Telogorus)

Just waiting on Blizzard artists to set aside time to make Light-themed racial mounts for the remaining races.

No Vulpera Paladins? No Mechagnome, No Void Elf, No Nightborne?

Didn’t you read it? Three whole sections on Goblins, Gnomes, and Night Elves. Didn’t do Blood Elves because they already have Paladins.

That’s a sick idea.

They laid the groundwork with the Tyr’s Guard. Let’s goooo

I did…and you forgot the races I mentioned. I didn’t say Night Elves. I SAID Nightborne. I also said Mechagnomes which you didn’t mention. Vulpera, not mentioned, Void Elf, not mentioned. So you really didn’t do paladin for ALL races. You lied. No light for you!

No. Just no

Okay and what about Vulpera paladins? You left us out of your list although we could always be like blessed by the dunes and have like light imbued hyena mounts. Can’t after all say ‘Paladins for all races’ then exclude some races after all.

I always pictured their mount being like a horse reanimated the same way as Calia…so it’s not all bones like their other horses but still flesh but flesh charged with light magic bound to the undead paladin.

My take is that Paladins DO NOT need to be Light themed
We can get an Elune paladin that doesnt use the light but instead a form of moonlight effects right
So why not Undead are Death Paladins, they effects are dark and death related rather than light themed.
it does encroaches on DK territory, but lets be honest, thats exactly what DK are, Undead Paladins
Void Elves can be paladins whose effects are all void themed
Orc Paladins can pull on orc’s shamanistec heritage and their effect are more spirits base (spirit is one of the elements and shamans regularly use it)
Pandaran paladins can have their effects be Chi and Celestial themed rather than light
etc

Blizzard wont do it bc its a lot more work, but I would strongly prefer if every race had a unique take on the classes rather than just copy pasting them
A Human Warlock and a Troll Warlock should practice different forms of the dark arts.

Lol I’m just being a butt I abhor allied races because I see them as annoying vestigial versions of the races I like in an attempt to get superficial attention from us without substance so I don’t like giving them that attention.

“If I don’t see them, they’re not real-“ Nah but fr, unless they make you guys core races with an appropriate visual upgrade just stick with Goblins.

That’d be a good way to sidestep the moral question if they go that route. I suppose it’s also smarter for them to have loyal mounts.

any race that can be a priest should have paladin.
it’s the same damn power, just one is a holy warrior.

I think they actually set up a possible lead-in to Orc paladins with the Mag’har Orc recruitment quest line, though that story arc hasn’t been touched since then. Keep it mind, it’s been years since that quest line came out, so my memory of it is a bit hazy.

That could be a rather interesting idea. A Worgen’s natural might and ferocity combined with religious fanaticism of a particularly aggressive paladin could be a fearsome combination indeed.

Absolutely not, stop pushing for this Zoval/shadowlands level lore.

Scathing, but unsubstantiated. Maybe give actual reasons for your unpleasant reaction?

I already stated the reason…

The lore offered is terrible, everyone doesn’t need to be everything. The world has a set of rules that have already been broken because of the talentless devs who wrote them in… let it be, the butchering has to stop eventually.
