How are paladin dps these days? I’ve never played on before and wanting to do dps on the horde side. Never played horde so I’ll be broke lvl 1. Or should I stick to Hunter on horde side.
Doesn’t hurt to try it. Paladins leveling up may feel kind of crummy unless you play tank. Protection Paladins do surprisingly good damage, or at least consistently. Retribution tends to take a while to warm up to because they’re hard hitting but their cooldowns are awful at first.
As for their DPS, I can’t tell you on Retribution but seeing tanks in M+, they can be quite amazingly strong but other than that, you may just play it safe by rolling Hunter again. Its more of a idea to just be comfortable and have fun playing something.
I’m competitive for my gear level on my pally, but like any other class, it requires knowing how to spec it and to play the rotation. The play style is steady, but it does have a bunch of procs depending on spec. I’d say give it an honest try, and if you like it great, but if you don’t, don’t waste a lot of time on it.
Your opening rotation is kinda awkward when you’re maxed.
Eventually you’ll find your favorite mount to use when you’re running back to your group, after you die when you rip aggro off the tank and Divine Shield is on cooldown.

Mained Ret for years now. We’re great in solo and world content. Good survivability, good AOE for smaller packs, and wings feel good.
In group content we’re near the bottom of the charts, and DF looks like an absolute mess. Whoever is designing DF Paladins, is an idiot. In PVP we are a meme spec and have been since the end of Wrath. Don’t expect that to change.
I’ll put it to you this way; if Ret goes live the way it is being shown in the alpha now, I’ll be maining this guy in DF. It’s a GD shame how badly Blizzard ****s on Ret Paladins!

In all honesty, level as prot for most the way. It does more damage for most of the low leveling.
Especial when you get avenger shield procs. Pull everything and spin those hammers (lvl 1 talent) and you basically can spam avengers shield and with the talent hits 5 and shields you for damage.
Its really nuts.
It will suffice but is it good? No. Paladins are pretty awful at dps. I’d stay away. It’s mainly a community problem but yeah. Getting into keys as a ret paladin is torture LOL.

Ret is pretty bad. I rerolled to it because I’m retarded. Don’t copy me. Prot is very fun though.
We can burst just as well as other specs. DPS outside of cds is our biggest issue.
I’m glad that I tried this class. But now I’m sure that Warrior would’ve been the better pick.

My friend can pull around 19k dps at 292. Not sure that is considered high.
