Paladin Bard

They did say they would not rework any spec, but add them. Outlaw should get to have a real big gun, though, as compensation.

If I hear one more thing about a Bard, I will track that speaker down and GUT THEM LIKE A FISH!

And with how it’s been going? Its own race too.

All abilities and spells have sound effects, doesn’t mean they are sound based attacks. Its a gameplay element.

Im like 90% sure augmentation was made as a gotcha play by blizz to convince the players that "you think you do, but you don’t " in regards to bards and support specs. The spec is a balancing nightmare and has caused no end of frustration across all content lol

And now getting nerfed too, by a whopping 50%(40% buff reduced to 20%). Eventually they will be carries at this rate.

I’d rather Bard be its own class as a whole.

I beleive we’ll get Bard as a new class next expansion. That Waveborne Diplimat’s Regalia gives me strong Bard vibes.

Yeah, and I’ve mentioned in another thread that I feel there’s a lot of potential beyond just the support aspect. Could go the Everquest route and have them have Troubadour for Full-Support, and Dirge for Support and Debuffs.

Also as strange as it may sound, Bards and Pirates (which seems to be the theory of next xpac theme) mix very well together if you think about all the Sea Chants and how those songs boost the morale of sailors. That’s a perfect moment to introduce that class.

It could be interesting! Although if I’m being honest, I don’t think pirates would be the next focus, seeing how the maritime theme of Kul Tiras alone felt along those lines. Could definitely see it as being a school of spells for bards in their toolkit though!

I’d love it if they made actual songs to go along with it, or hell, give bards their own series of quests where you can travel the worlds to gather unique songs.

Bard is boring, lets get a KPoP star up in this joint with a fire dance moves with killer vocals

TIL a shout from warriors isnt really a shout.

Honestly, I feel like Bard should be a Rogue support spec.

They tried to hard to make Pirate spec work, and another is a Ninja spec. But what is the identity of third? It’s like a weird magical rogue.

Imo, combine the best parts of Subtlety and Assasination into one spec.

Keep Combat/Outlaw as-is, just make it more fun lol.

And then the 3rd spec, could be a ranged-support hybrid, aka Bard.

I’ve played a Bard in FF14, they actually have it done really well. You’re an archer with DPS moves that buff the entire group/raid, and the damage is decent.

FF14 basically had “support” specs long before WoW ever did. Even doing DPS on a “healer” class is reasonably competitive.

Although I guess it’s moreso in the vein of Classic WoW’s classes, where every class brings something to the table, if not high damage or healing, a good buff.

Everyone wants Bard to be it’s own class, but I struggle to see what the other specs of a bard will do. In FF14, there aren’t other specs, but you can just swap classes instead.

Archer gets access to the Bard subclass at lvl 30 in that game.

Imo, they are better off like Aug- one spec for support.

No, you guys have enough toys, if anyone gets bard as a spec it would obviously be rogue.

HE SAID PALADIN BARD…LOOOOOL

I see that the Baldurs Gate 3 hype is going around.

Don’t worry yall, we’ll get to play it in a week!!

BG3 > WoW > D4

Actually, I do know about this infact because of what I learned in martial arts. When I first enrolled, the very first thing I was told to do is a loud action scream(like in martial art movies), and you may think “but it gives away your position” and yeah…you wouldnt use it in a life or death scenario tbh, but this isnt that. The meaning behind this battle shout is to instill some moment of hesitation or fear as you strike during sparring. In translation to fantasy, it pretty much means the same thing - like AOE fear shout we have, that kind of embodies that concept to a degree, others are to “inspire allies” which was actually a thing in RL battles, etc. They have “effects” but are more psychological then sound based.

Azeroth is not real life.

Idk about you guys but I’m already playing a bard

I could see the Bard as ether a Profession or a Spec for Rogues/Hunters or just a Class in General.
