Paladin aoe item nerfs

Why would they nerf these items? The use of all of these items like Flame Wrath and that disc shield that breaks quickly were used in archived videos during BC to do AoE pulls like this. Same idea with mages in 2007 using flamestrike to bypass the aoe cap.

Are they gonna go after the scarab that shields people on heals or the very low druid helm that has the insane skill on it also???

Either they nerf all the level 60 and under items or keep them all the same. It is really bad to selectively destroy pieces of history of some low level items but keep other low level items.

It makes no sense to nerf an item meant for lvl 60s. @lvl 60 so lvl 70s don’t exploit it …

thats possibly the worst skullflame shield video ever made.

if youre testing it in rfc where you 100% mitigate all of the mobs damage on a block, of course sfs isnt going to proc and is going to look like a bad item

this was a better video. its not relevant now

Did you watch the whole thing? He covers just that very thing and progressively goes into higher higher instances to show the results. No, looks like you watch the first 1-2 min. and left.

played og tbc and
that skull looked cool
but no paladin used it to aoe farm the 100 illidari guys pull
so idk why people hyped it so much

You chose the words. You tell me.

Has there been any word about whether or not this was intended?

Oh look at this, all the 58 pro-boosters are heavily interested in pally AoE boosting, what a surprise ! What happened to “the 58 boost” being the solution/justification to mage AoE levelling ? Maybe its only you lot. Bunch of hypocrites.

Nerfing mages and paladins aoeing capacity = more 58 boost sales. Simple as that.

Presumably, they are doing what they SHOULD have done in classic vanilla. “No changes” should absolutely be adhered to, when it comes to fundamental changes like no LFG queue, and no dual spec. Those are core pieces of what made the game.

Anyone who is honest with themselves however, would know how the original devs would have responded to things like mage aoe farms (that almost all exploit pathfinding bugs), the people exploiting those bugs would have ate bans, and the bugs closed. But they took a way too literal “No changes” and just let that fester, and ruin the game.

Locking out changes that would alter the spirit of the game =/= providing bug fixes and number tweaks when it was obviously not intended.

Edit: As an aside, it’s pretty hilarious seeing people desperate to offload these items that they probably snatched up in the hopes of flipping them. Lots of people are losing their rear on now worthless items.

Believe it or not, this actually is no changes.

Private servers got the scaling wrong, so these items had a reputation from there. The “nerf” is bringing them in line with how they actually worked in TBC.

Mages still gonna be the best booster.

That slave pens pull looks like 500+g/hour

it was stealth nerfed in tbc. This is a bug fix. not a nerf

The nerf was intended to affect lower level spells

This makes sense .

However during prepatch they are not lower level spells , they are high lvl spells .

That’s the issue

It’s because of the way pre patch is.

Already going to be based on the last patch.

Sounds like paladins are just going to have to deal with it :crying_cat_face::scream_cat::crying_cat_face:

The "that’s the way it is " approach doesn’t help anything .

Nerfing stuff to prevent high lvl exploit when it is a current level item is stupid .

Period

Its not a nerf. Unless you mean making it function as it did 14 years ago when it was nerfed a nerf…

It was nerfed in tbc. The end.

Some would consider TBC to be an abomination of Vanilla as it broke down many of the social systems and gameplay that existed. So unless you’d like to poll all users that ever played, it really depends on who you ask and their perspective. Else, folks would have only remade 1 version on private servers, so it’s player preference at this point.
