Paid Transfers to PvE Servers Should be Allowed

Paid ($25-$50/character) transfers should be allowed from PvP to PvE Servers. While many of the other posts surrounding this topic discuss the merits/demerits of PvP in Classic, this post does not attempt to prove one side or the other is right.

Rather, it is clear that there is a real desire amongst some to transfer from PvP to PvE. Allowing for this type of transfer, for a reasonable fee, makes good sense for three reasons: (1) some players want to move; (2) the market is a good tool to use in this situation; and (3) the alternative is that WoW: Classic looses subscriptions in favor of another game.

This is a pretty simple, straightforward fix for Blizzard which allows them to monetize the change, address concerns from players, and keep the game strong going forward.

For those who would (and will in response to this post) say that those upset should either quit or re-roll in PvE, this is not the smart decision for Blizzard as: (1) those who are not enjoying the game and cannot spend the time to re-roll will simply quit; and (2) those who can re-roll will still deny those who enjoy PvP (in its current from) the other players they need to create a PvP experience in the first place.

Instead, let the market decide. Charge a fee, allow for the PvP to PvE server transfers to occur, and then re-assess how to continue to make WoW:Classic even stronger.

They were part of vanilla, might as well make them part of classic.

I think it should be a one-time either paid or free PVP to PVE transfer. That way you responsabilise your playerbase to make a thoughtful choice.

Paid transfer will only enable server hoppers when they are not happy about anything.

They had a 6 month cd in vanilla, I support the same cd

I would totally support that caveat/limitation.

Iā€™d rather let the sub lapse and go elsewhere for another 10 yrs then fall into their paid transfers like the wanted.

thatā€™s probably why you are not in charge of a company tbh.

I agree with you. My main is nearly level 53, and the fun has been sucked out of the game for me now. Even the idea of running BRD is ruined because it takes 40 minutes to get in the dungeon from the flight point. I have to corpse run the whole thing. And then your whole group still needs to get there.

Yes, I know, it was a mistake to roll on a pvp server. Here comes the ā€œpvp happened on a pvp serverā€ comments. I see that perspective, 100%. But, fact of the matter is, I thought I wanted the pvp environment and found out the hard way that I just donā€™t have the hours available to me to play in order to enjoy P2 on a pvp server. Itā€™s taken me nearly 3 months to get to 53, I donā€™t really want to start over.

Just let us do paid transfers to realms that are not considered ā€œhighā€ or ā€œfullā€, do not allow pve TO pvp but only pvp TO pve (pve to pvp would be an unfair advantage), and do what you did in vanilla - make a 6 month cooldown on transfer so people canā€™t hop around. Iā€™d pay $25 right now to move to a pve server. I donā€™t want to lose all my progress and start over from 1 - Iā€™m attached to the character I rolled. I donā€™t think itā€™s an unreasonable request.

This is what I really want. I freely admit I messed up in choosing a PvP server this go around. I thought it would be similar to my Vanilla experience, but it isnā€™t and I donā€™t have the time for it anyways.
I just want to transfer my characters to a PvE server and continue playing.

LOL glad I joined PvE on day 1. We the carebears though, right?

I would support if PvP to PvE was one way. You cannot go back, I think this is how it was so people didnā€™t transfer, level without PvP, and then transfer back at 60 to go grief other players and gank. Plus there was a 6 month CD on transfers in vanilla, I think that is a pretty good deterrent from server hopping.

100%. I knew exactly what the ā€˜amazingā€™ PVP would be like from playing on Private Servers and wanted no part of all the BS. A decision I donā€™t regret for a second. And no way to paid transfers. People that rolled on a PVP server can reroll on a PVE server if they want to escape it now. Pagle is filled up enough as it is.

They canā€™t allow paid transfers. If they did it would only exacerbate the faction imbalance we already have.

Players on a server where their side is ā€œlosingā€ will automatically transfer to servers where their side is ā€œwinningā€. And then all we will be left with is the majority of servers with a constant 60/40 or maybe even 70/30 split down the faction lines. And that is not sustainable. Players on the minority side will leave the server due to the harassment of the opposing side and then the opposing side wonā€™t have anyone to play against. The only way to fix this right now is to release the BGs. And if that doesnā€™t fix the problem then they will need to make PvP a toggle just like they do elsewhere.

Because if they donā€™t do SOMETHING soon Classic will start bleeding players like crazy and that problem will just snowball. People will leave because their friends left and people will leave because their guild doesnā€™t have enough people to operate anymore. And on and on. Blizz needs to act fast before this gets worse.

This isnā€™t going to help realm balance. Itā€™s only going to make it worse, while appeasing the individual. I guess if thatā€™s your goal, well done.

I have a better ideaā€¦ Make them free.

This post has nothing to do with balance. Lmao

Iā€™m pretty sure thatā€™s how it was in classic, one way from PvP to PvE and not the other.

I never transferred though so I canā€™t confirm

I rolled on a PVE server because I knew this would happen. Faction imbalance is going to happen with or without the transfers. People arenā€™t enjoying not being able to play, so I sport it as an option. It should be one way only though.
