More detail please.
See above.
That only covered titles.
So itâs okay to make players regear themselves for weapons / rings / trinkets but not to relevel a profession?
so⊠this is entirely because of profession knowledge?
doesnât seem worth it.
itâs the reason alts exist.
Then why not just lobby for changes to professions and account wide reputation instead?
And what âother thingsâ are you referring to?
The only way iâd support this is if the character in question resets to level 1 while keeping all reps/achievements/items and is also unable to be boosted via credit card. I can definitely see the value in people being able to essentially switch mains but keep all of their stuff/reps, i just think that they should have to level up properly.
My Druid has been my main since Vanilla. Until this expansion. My professions, years of work, rep, etc are still there. On my other character. And thatâs fine.
Im totally cool with this.
Losing all my reps and stuff is the biggest pain point with changing main for me.
It actually makes me very hesitant to do so.
If levelling from 1 was all it took to keep that, im game.
Currently i already level up my new main when i change them so nothing gets altered there.
I second this. In BFA I fully levelled a Monk and have no intention of ever playing it again, and would love to race change it to something like a Priest. I know how to play one and would love to have a second one specifically for Shadow spec without levelling a whole new one.
Same goes for some of the characters I have of the same class that are unplayed.
Itâs mechanically impossible or near-impossible to make class changes a thing because thereâs too much technical hoo-ha that defines each one. There are a lot of things locked to classes, from cosmetics to gear to quests, which the game most likely wasnât programmed to handle changing or removing in the event of it having to replace a characterâs entire class. The game would also have to hand you a new set of gear with each class change, which would invariably be uncommons appropriate for your character level and not your old classâs item level, and if your new class has a different armor and/or weapon type, then that defeats the purpose of not simply leveling or boosting a new character.
âI donât want to make alts, give me everything NOWâ
This isnât FFXIV where jobs were specifically made to be something anyone can learn and switch to at any time.
Other MMOs that allow something like this donât have anywhere near the level of class identity that wow brings to the table.
Iâm sure Blizzard listens to all the ideas posted in GD, even the dumb ones.
Or make it like FFXIV where classes are like jobs and you change them on the fly
Even add a mechanic like symbiosis where you can choose a skill from another class/spec like death grip or mass dispell (it wouldnât work on PvP ofc)
Make everything account bound like profession progression (excluding gearing / power progression) or make it like FF14 where you can have every class and profession on one character and not have to have anything account bound at all.
Unfortunately, this may not be true for much longer. All races all classes will very much diminish the sense of class identity.
Lol you think the meta is bad nowâŠ
Maybe from your perspective.
But from mine and im sure many others, the service would be used as a way to maintain your reps, quests completed, the character history.
Losing gear would be nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
I would use a class change service even if it left my character naked at level 1, so long as it kept my reps and quest completion intact.
Iâd totally do this for $225 each. No, thatâs not a typo.
I can see the threads now:
âactivision/Microsoft predatory new store serviceâ
âtheyâre cashing in on their fotm balancingâ
âthis will kill blizzard/wowâ
âfire whoever invented thisâ
âdid they buff warlock to sell class change services?â
âI just swapped to fire mage and they nerfed it by 2% itâs now f-tier. Thanks Blizzardâ
