I would like the option as well accept I am doubly screwed. I rooled on a PVE servers because my work buddies rolled there… now I am almost 60 and they have all started to play less, they sound like the grind is getting to them… I do know some other people on another server but its PVP so even if they open xfers I cant go there.

I disagree for this reason:
Right now every server is changing. We have free transfers for dozens of servers. A lot of people tried Classic and are quitting. Etc.
Ask yourself this: how would you feel if you paid for a transfer to a realm because it had better “balance”, and 3 or 4 weeks later your new realm had terrible “balance”? Wouldn’t you blame Blizzard? Wouldn’t you complain?
But Blizzard is not promising that “right now’s balance won’t change”. In fact they are promising it WILL change: they have free transfers.
I think Blizzard is avoiding a huge number of complaints by players who would foolishly pay-transfer ASAP, incorrectly assuming that “nothing will change after I transfer”. And then all those players will blame Blizzard because things changed.
Incorrect. Paid transfers were long before this.

No it wasn’t. Paid transfers started to happen because blizzard was having hardware issues. They had to move people off of my server because it was literally crashing as early as BWL.
Free transfers started then.
We were in full blown Paid transfer status during the AQ gates opening.
Person did it got the mount or whatever and blizz let them bounce lol.
I dont blame em though. This had nothing to do with the journey to retail and everything to do with blizzard having to come up with a system early to relieve server stress.
This should sound familiar to everyone.
If you can’t find a guild that meets your raid schedule, quitting until paid xfers seems like the thing to do
Don’t have much interest in getting tooled over in BG’s by raid-geared people, or interest in re-rolling an alt for that 1-60 grind
Just gonna quit until I can do a message to all servers to find a consistent serious guild that raids exclusively fri-sun. Or just quit for good if the xfers never happen
This is not the answer bro. This is classic. Re rolling is a serious consequence.
I don’t plan on quitting, I truly enjoy the game. I just think paid transfers fix issues similar to mine, while also putting some responsibility on the player to make choices. Without the transfers people on highly populated servers have had limited options to transfer off. This is causing a whole other set of issues, that simply allowing paid transfers resolves.

Yet we are currently playing on patch 1.12. Not asking for contant early, just the ability to further pay to enjoy the game.
That is some impressive sleuthing right there. Not gonna lie, i am impressed. However i would like to make note of one line in particular:
“This new functionality will allow you to transfer characters to other realms (within certain restrictions) in order to join friends and family”
That bold part has me guessing this service (in a more limited fashion) might of been available prior to this announcement. Maybe our server was a one off due to the fact the technology and hardware were literally failing.
Been a long time, i wont say i recall exactly but my memory isnt that far gone yet lol.

I’ve started way more than 50 just like this thread. You need to learn to keep up.
I am comfortable with Herod right now, even with its current ques, but telling people to reroll cuz they want to join their friends and family, or because they wanna go to a different server for other legit reasons is just unreasonable.
Based on my own experience, leveling a 60 is not boring but it is fun only if I do it once a year. After I do it once, it exhausts me and I need some time to get excited again for leveling a 60.
Just release the Paid Character Transfer already…
This seems like too reasonable of a take to be on the internet. I believe you are supposed to accuse someone of being too casual and should encourage them to quit the game.
Id rather not reroll because i was able to be very lucky with my lvl 40, and get the Staff of Jordan. so Rerolling is not an option.
