They did, and removed the bulk of them outright. This round of threads is newer and if history repeats, the same outcome will happen.
I don’t know where you’re looking but I see a lot of anti-rdf trolls report bombing threads.

If blizzard checked the forums all you anti rdf trolls would be permabanned for continually attacking people and violating the social contract. Although I do notice a couple went missing today, so looks like they are issuing some bans afterall

From what I’ve seen its largely the anti-rdf trolls being uncouth.
Going to play devil’s advocate here; some of the pro-RDF people are just as bad, but at least they’re not report bombing everything they don’t agree with. That’s just petty.
We’re playing a game from two decades ago on purpose and not a game made in 2022.

Funny. I’m neither for nor against RDF; however, I am very much against spam on the forums.
Ronstantine is correct in how there are the same 4 or 5 (and I’m being generous with the number) people spamming the forums with RDF nonsense repeatedly.
I have zero issues hitting the spam flag each time too. Does that make me a troll because I believe y’all suffer from special snowflake syndrome?

And yet systems that were in the game back then like RDF and have been removed and replaced with broken versions of Retail tools.
Every patch more junk from Retail gets shoved in. Yet an authentic system from Wrath? Never!!

I dont understand why people think adding RDF is some super simple thing. They literally need to rebuild both the server architecture and the systems code itself for it to be a thing. Thats a massive undertaking for a rather small Classic dev team.

Recreating the old RDF system would actually be the biggest development project they’ve ever done for Classic WoW since the launch of Classic itself.
Anyone working in big tech knows databasing and server architecture development takes a massive amount of time and testing to get to function properly. It’s not as simple as adding a new item to the game or anything like that and I’m betting the cost analysis for redevelopment of such a massive system is one of the leading non verbal factors to why there is no RDF

I’m always glad to see other people with common sense. Sadly, Blizzard, much like the lazy or ignorant playerbase, would rather just skip everything than make it fun. Once upon a time, these features would have been spat upon by the playerbase. Now they are praised. “Yay, we can skip more of the game!”
I’m not for RDF, but this idea that back in the day the REAL gamers didn’t like xp bonuses is objectively false.
Even the people playing on EQ’s P99 server squeal in delight when they put in a holiday xp bonus. They added faction and loot bonus too. That player base aren’t exactly “lazy gamers”. Most MMORPGs offer an xp bonus during various holidays.

perhaps you are right, but they seemed to have made it work for battlegrounds pretty easily. I mean the tech is there, they literally had it in original Wrath. I suspect they had to do some serious effort to pull it out since they used a patch version which it was in.
