I was just thinking Pack Leader looks pretty good for BM. If they buff Kill Shot, it would be great. Of course, that is just my initial opinion. I’d have to take a deep dive into how it affects synergy and such to cement my opinion.
As we wait for Sentinel I’d just like to point out that the MM non-dark ranger community (like all 10 of us) thinks the devs are quite fetching and look like they lost weight.
looks like blizzard totally forgot that KC serves completely different purposes for BM and SV. It’s a somewhat hard hitting focus spender for BM while for SV it’s a garbage filler/generator button that you press when you can’t press any of your good buttons (hits like a wet noodle too). this is par for the course after them committing super hard on the kill-command-cd-reset mechanic for survival which nobody liked (KC is just an awful button to press for survival), but still this is a new low in how absolutely out of touch the developers are with the class they’re supposed to be designing
I guess it’s “good” if you want to play exactly like on live, only with 5 passive damage modifiers on top.
Numerically it may end up strong, but in terms of gameplay it is an abomination.
Enjoy doing additional physical damage every second kill command, having every third basic attack crit, and summoning one more pet for 6 sec with the “zoo” ability, while your rotation remains the same as for the last 2 years
Some people wanted zero added complexity- they got it.
As Survival, you must go down the left tree the BM route for double kill kommands, otherwise you can’t activate the extra damage, good luck not taking serpent sting and explosive shot
You’re now expected to press KC on CD twice in a row during coordinated assault every time it’s up for the bonus. If you don’t - you’re essentially playing without a hero tree

Currently, we cast Barbed Shot just to keep Frenzy up. Otherwise, it’s as many Kill Commands as you can. These talents look like they want us to weave in an appropriate number of Kill Commands, Barbed Shots and Kill Shots to keep buffs running.
Yeah, between the disappointing “hero” talents we have seen and still no rsv in sight, this may be the first expansion I skip. I usually buy them and play for 1-3 months but it’s starting to feel like a waste. SoD was fun though lol
This is the biggest problem with most of the hero trees. Designing a single tree around being equal for two completely different specs is just straight up impossible. One glance an you can go “well that’s clearly the affliction tree”, etc. The entire idea of multi spec trees like this is was doomed to failure from the start.
Just compare pack to other pet hero trees like rider of apocalypse or the warlock one. Its night and day
I was expecting being able to ride pets in combat like in wc3, change cooldown abilities to new cds like summoning swarms or a ermy of beasts, maybe have kill command summon a swarm or something
I have played long enough to know that means nothing. Reading feedback is one thing but fixing up bad hero trees or redesigning them i find hard to beleive
