P2 Theories and Guesses

With a lot of leveling being around SM and the hint that there might be an SM raid, I am thinking that there could be a secret SM raid that we will discover in P2. I also think that like the teleport to BFD that there will be a teleport to a camp near SM for alliance as a QoL feature and that this raid will be larger and on a weekly lock out with Gnomer being a gear up for it.

Anyways just a fun theory I had. What are some of the theories that others have?

I don’t believe there will be an SM raid because it is too popular as a dungeon and Blizzard said they would look into less popular dungeons as raid candidates. However, I do believe they will add runes there, possibly more quests and/or new gear

Considering they showed SM on the MAIN STAGE of Blizzcon, it would be trolling if they didn’t do SM.

I really hope they do, I can’t wait to tromp around in my Scarlet Crusader themed tier set and watch my pug group wipe for the 4th time because the melee didn’t run away from Herod’s bladestorm

My thought is that it could possibly something new and the dungeons will still be there to level in. This could give them a reason to make an alliance hub so that alliance doesn’t have to run from WPL considering how popular this dungeon area will be. To me it makes the most sense to release it during P2 simply because SM will be so popular.

Gnomer is the confirmed raid and STV is the confirmed WPvP location. What I feel they are going to do with SM is to ‘enhance’ what’s already there.

The purpose as Blizz has stated for the things they are doing in SoD is to elaborate more on stories that exist.

So we may learn more about everything that happened in Gnomer and what exactly is going on in STV to a more detailed extent.

I feel that they may more quest elements to SM or perhaps even flesh out some of the characters who exist there.

Oh I like this. Possibly to introduce and set up for a future raid. Would be cool if it also tied into the craftable epics and the shadowy figure.

Ooooh, What if we went into some crypts under SM and there was a quest chain that led to a raid or dungeon that told us why High Inquisitor Whitemane had led that contingent of Scarlet Crusaders into murdering civilians and turning evil unlike Brother Anton

Maybe with a quest line and an attunement that required something in all 4 wings of SM.

There was the notion that we’ll get a Scarlet Crusade raid at lv 60.

Based on what?

That was my thought as well but they are also going to do Kara Crypts so I was thinking it might add too many phases to end game which lead to my thoughts that it could possibly be P2. I know the scarlet crusade story kind of starts for us around P2 and continues so it could just be the start of it all ending with 60 raid, but I wouldnt be mad at a secret raid that just catches us all by surprise.

Based on their interviews and that Phase 5 is a post 60 update. We won’t know whether that means they’ll just do something for a dungeon at 60 or if they intend to do something different with the Scarlet Crusade that exists in EPL.

Most of it is speculation, as this is the right thread for it, but I can only assume that since SM is not the Phase 2 raid that it’ll have some tidbits that lead to something at lv 60 where there is a wealth of Scarlet Crusade assets that were never made use of, such as Tyrs Hand.

This seems more likely. I definitely think that there will be runes tied to SM. Adding a questline that starts this story line possibly leading to a future SM right would be exciting. I wonder where they would put it though. I like the idea of a crypts under SM or perhaps if at 60 maybe somewhere in WPL.

I wonder if they’d do something like that.

The journey from South Shore or Chillwind Camp to SM is an arduous and memorable one, and for sure on PVP servers where SM content matters, it might become even more so, but reducing that to a “QoL Feature” would sure kill the chance for some Classic flavor, imo.

I know that some people greatly disliked WoW Classic 2019’s Phase 2. For me personally, this was the best time of WoW Classic. I wish it would have lasted longer, and that the devs had made an official statement of, “If you don’t like PVP happening on PVP servers, reroll Normal.” rather than offering transfers.

Anyway, “QoL” removes more or less all of the reasons I play Classic, and I sincerely hope that the devs realize that things like putting the GY for BFD right at its entrance is a mistake and an anti-feature, not something that belongs in Classic. Otherwise, at least for me as an individual, I don’t see myself having a super-awesome-amazing-fun-Classic experience going forward, and I would like to not be deprived of that.

I can totally see your side on this. Plus this is my first play through as alliance so I do want to experience everything. I’m just getting flashbacks of the run to SFK as alliance and would like it if there was a closer run to get to an area that I will probably be spending a lot of my time. Maybe a questline of some sort to unlock it so that I have to initially make the run.

Either way I anticipate that area to be an absolute war zone.

I am going to imagine hub or not there will be warlocks making a ton of gold from summons.

This is my hope as well. The SM dungeons were extremely popular. I like the idea of Blizz taking some of the less popular dungeons like BFD and Gnomer and turning them into raids.

IMO, the next 10-man raids should be:

  • Maraudon. Was an awkward level range and was very far out of the way.

  • Uldaman. Again, had an awkward level range.

  • Sunken Temple. This place just feels epic and has raid written all over it.

  • Blackrock Depths. Again, this place is just epic and can easily be made into a great raid.

I know it’s not happening but prior to SoD releasing I was hopeful for a Quilboar raid. RFD seemed like it had potential.

Yes cuz alliance get everything

With this being my first time leveling as alliance I can say that Horde has way better FPs and even city layouts. It’s interesting for sure but so far other than numbers Horde was better in every way in classic.
