I mean, I also still need the shoulders… we’ve dissed the pants a couple times already, let alone the kara tokens.
Just because P2 starts doesn’t mean you’ll stop running P1 stuff. It’ll be one night Gruul/Mags/Kara, one night SSC and one night Eye for many guilds. You’ll still get your tokens, even with only one drop.
Quite frankly… I am not necessarily opposed to this change, as it was eventually implemented in the original release as well. I just think it is too early for that to happen. P3 would have been the better time, as it would also have concurred with when it was changed in the original release.
This is probably the only debatably bad change. We’ll see but I feel like people being able to finish their set faster just kinda defeats the purpose of working towards a goal with your guild.
With the reputation PvP sets it’s a bit different because those are starter sets in order to feel like you’re able to get in on the ground-floor with some resil to compete… T5 is the GOAT though, seems like something that’s fulfilling for people to spend time working on.
Less tokens also kind of helps to cement spec-identity. When there’s then twice as many to go around, people start to use em for alt-specs. This almost plays into the hands of the people wanting to argue for dual-spec before wrath.
Not sure I like that. - Then again, maybe 1 token per 25 players is just not enough.
Maybe they want to rush the phases per marketing dept. phase and expansion launches are probably when they see the biggest sub spikes… but why not just spend time building good will with the community and trying to maximize subs every day??
They’re going to reach the end of Classic eventually, unless their plan is to just repeat the patch cycle of the trilogy forever and hope for tons of these little spikes.
we will always end up with more token drops tho from early content we are just getting it a little faster originally it was 2 token drops once black temple drop then 3 once sunwell came out
Blizzards shareholder pleasing mentality…
unfortunately short term Mammon is more important to blizz than creating a good game, a work of art, a masterpiece.
When was this implemented in original TBC? Was it later as a catchup mechanic?
This is almost twice the drop rate of vanilla. Seems like it will just lead to people getting all their gear quicker and then getting bored. The worst thing that can happen to a player is for them to actually get all the gear they want.
I’ve always found myself to be a great Googler… until I met my maker. Blizzard and their updates they kinda wanna tell you about but maybe also they don’t wanna make people mad
My opinion on this - make previous tiers drop 2 pieces and new tiers drop 1. When sunwell is out, every tier drops 2.
But this works too. I still think it will take a lot of time to deck people out in full sets. The amount of time it takes certainly should not exceed a guild clearing the content from day one up until the next tier is released. So maybe they figured that part out better than we know
Also for all those who think it will go too fast, realize that all of your hunters are not rolling on tier pieces. Not sure for other classes, but that is probably a large chunk of players we have currently rolling on tier pieces last for the memes and trophy room… and I have 0 and have been clearing since the second week of launch
