Lets take a step back and look at what we got here despite the issues that happened during launch and after.
-
We have World of Warcraft patch 1.12 with minor changes.
-
We have more passionate people for this version of the game than retail (assuming).
-
We have a new sense of community building on every classic server again.
-
We have had more in-game player interaction and conversation since LFG & cross realm was released.
And I’m sure you and I could add more to this list just thinking about what we really have here. So despite all the issues and crap we are currently dealing with, we got some pretty cool stuff happening.
While Blizzard provided the game and service, we, the passionate players brought in the community to make it all happen and that alone is what makes this better than retail.

I’m grateful for having this version of WoW back. It’s quite enjoyable and you don’t hit max level in a flash of light.
The community is awesome, tho I just hate how it’s sometime free for all for the quests like the silthid (grammar ?) Eggs quest in the barrens. It’s like impossible to secure a spot without having a ninja picking the eggs while you are fighting the last mobs x.x
But other than that, it’s cool.
No more flying mounts and LFG is a huge plus.

Honestly nothing about Classic has disappointed me. It’s the game I played years ago, frozen in time. That’s what I wanted so what is there to be bothered by? I don’t even get the logic or lack thereof that drives people to complain about it.

I’m disappointed it took Blizzard this long to give us classic.

Thank you, Lev. It’s a fun-- and grindy-- game. So glad to get to step back in time like this. Truly, I don’t think we appreciate enough what Blizzard has made for us.

I do really love the bits that I believe people refer to as “community”. Out questing and bump into people you’ve done dungeons with and can group again knowing they’re some great, friendly people. There are a few inconsiderate people around as well, but I generally talk with them and if they continue to be unreasonable I just move on.
As a side note I’m not sure if this sort of questing and grouping goes on in retail so please don’t use this as a comparison between the two. I only played BFA for about a week and realized it wasn’t for me at all and I’m not trying to put it down.

Positivity? What’s that?
On a real note, definitely interesting seeing how much change happens when you strip away mechanics that remove the need to interact with people how different they act overall.
Can honestly say if it were retail and I say someone dying to a mob, I’d continue on and not help. Classic though? i’ll sit there and beat on it to help out even if I don’t gain anything from it

In current retail, people are in such a rush for endgame you wont see more than a few words pass between people if any. Don’t get me wrong, not bashing retail but its a whole different game leveling (too easy and boring imo) and even “end game” is different. The only community I had noticed was within the guild I joined for a bit of raiding. Honestly if it wasnt for everyone pushing to do mythic+++++ I might have stayed a bit longer, but I didnt enjoy that dungeon design in Gw2 either. Not hard, I enjoy the challenge, but it gets boring the umpteenth time you are in the same dungeon. Meh to each their own
