Well to be fair, there is a certain mexican restaurant that destroyed my bathroom one night
The main thing I don’t like about the CurseForge App is how slow it is compared to the third-party apps.
Actual game development is a job. Making mods is a hobby, at best. I don’t pay for someone else’ hobbies.
Shame. All those cursewords and nothing to use them on.
Or, y’know, Blizz could just develop the game in such a way that addons are not needed.
I’ll pass on that. I like my entirely redesigned UI and my window skins.
Again, they could just develop the game so that a separate addon to do this is not required.
Start with simple UI tweaks (frame styles, locations), and expand on it with later patches/expansions. They could even market the new styles as expansion features.
Again, I don’t want their base UI even if I could rearrange it. And I like skinning my frames and windows and unitframes. They’ll never.do anything quite that significant.
traitor…
Overwolf 9.2 final boss.
Massive wolf. Whole screen zoomed out.
Overwolf came out the trees and snatched up a few dwarves from the Dwarven District! We gotta save em!
I’ve never heard of Ajour but honestly why would anyone want something other than CurseForge? I never worry about keeping addons up to date and they seem to have every addon available?
Fatcandle’s only job was to guard the entrance of that cave in Northshire. Fatcandled failed and now Overwolf is out for blood.
Curse changed their system to V2 so all the “good” add-on managers don’t work, or at least for most of the addons I use.
I’m pretty sure that charging $ for addons is not legal without permission from Blizzard. If curseforge is limiting the download count for those that are then they’re trying to CTA cover their &^^. You guys act like it’s malicious.
they’re not charging $ for addons, they’re charging $ for the convenience of using their app, while preventing other app providers from using their repository.
malicious? no.
greedy and not in the best interests of the playerbase? yes.
Do I think blizz should intervene and provide their own platform for distributing addons? yes, but I recognize that will never happen.
I’ve already accepted that I will be manually updating my addons again. Overwolf and their greedy, sketchy practices will never be on any computer I own.
You misread. Charging $ was the addon makers, not curseforge. There are several out there who do, and from what I gather those are the only ones having their download count stopped. Unless I totally missed the part where curseforge is hurting the 100% free addon makers. Which I could have TBH.
oh, sorry, I did!
obgliatory “I hate overwolf” here though
I use a fair number of addons. I have no idea what Ajour does. I always download and unpack addons into my addons folder. Am I missing something?
