I think the gap between IF and RoP may actually be higher now that RoP has much better synergy with Arcane Power’s burst. And, if you use burst phases correctly, OP is higher than Enlightened. I’ll do this when I want to try to maximize my DPS.
But, I still run the passives a lot just to chill anyway. If you’re trying to learn fights or do Mythic+ casually or anything where you just aren’t comfortable, run the passives.
Yea the passive mana regen is pretty good with Enlightened, I prob run passive in solo content and OP/RP in raids etc. Unless something changes…
Enlightened is actually very strong and competitive with Overpower. In prepatch you should be fine with either.
In Shadowlands, there’s a conduit that reduces Arcane Power CD. That may put Overpowered over the edge.
No comment on RoP. They effectively buffed it for Arcane so that row got even… deader. The autocast on AP even made it more viable in PvP lol.
For real… I really like Enlightened, I wish I could have both!
They seem close to me too.
I mean the +20% damage for 15 seconds once every 120 seconds is literally equal to +8% damage for 120 seconds straight.
I would try IF on Arcane with Enlightened for sure.
I think the extra mana cost reduction is unnecessary in OP. You’re not even trying to stay above a threshold. So throw that part of the talent away.
The extra mana regen in Enlightened. Hmm. You have maybe heard about how hard it is to stack Clearcasting. I think spamming Blast, while mixing in Barrages… while Evocation is off cooldown- purposefully before Arcane Power… That might be the only real way to stack Clearcasting, and it would be for it’s best purpose.
And RoP, especially if you pick Kyrian, there are just too many windows of Arcane damage, “mini-burst” now that it doesn’t cover. And if you pick one of those little windows, it isn’t 15 seconds long…
Poor Time Anomaly though. Patch notes said it was “buffed” to produce Haste randomly, instead of 4 Arcane Charges randomly. There are Arcane build ideas that were THIRSTY for those charges. It certainly was a “buff.” wink wink, nudge nudge (fun detected.)
