Probably close to half of the EZ-Mine nodes are placed in such a way that if you overload them they don’t eject any smaller nodes because they’re either stuck in a crack or placed slightly underground. Meaning all the small nodes they do produce hit the ground before they have a chance to leave the central node. You can track them on the map to show they did spawn but they never made it far enough away from the main node to appear on the ground to be mined.
So either you spend 10 seconds mining the main one for 1-2 ore (with no danger because the dynamite it ejects is hitting the ground first) or you overload it and try to mine the central one (probably for 1-2 ore anyway)
Just have your one QA intern go around mining for a day with no CD on the overload ability and they’ll find DOZENS of these
