Overload regret

I’ve put all my first 40 points into the Midnight Overload and since selling bat poo to vendors now seems like a more profitable business strategy than to farm motes I am seriously regretting it. Is it over for me to the point of switching to mining or it isn’t as bad as I see it?

Gosh. I’m sorry to hear that.

The herbalism overloads are not great.

But there is worth in every tree. You just picked a really hard one.

I’d say easier to swap to mining.

You could try to really lean into perception for the nocturnal lotuses. Basically, you’d overload wild nodes to get a perception buff then use imbued mulch on a lush node once per hour. Your extra charge of overload would be handy to keep up the buff while searching for any lush node.

The idea is that lush nodes roll twice. Twice for finesse and twice for perception. If you use the mulch your chance to get rare items is 100%. This increases your chance that perception will proc. That means you have a chance for 4 nocturnal lotuses to drop at once. And they are 1k on the AH right now.

To summarize:

  1. Overload a wild node. Attack the beast that spawns
  2. Search for a lush node (lush tranquility bloom is your best bet). You need to find it in 5 minutes
  3. Use imbued mulch
  4. Herb lush node and cross fingers

And do that once per hour. If the buff falls off before you can find a lush node, your perk is that you can use overload again.

Alas it’s not much of a perk…

Mining would be simpler and easier to do.
