Over a year with no class changes

Been a year that Demon Hunters have been ignored. No class or spec tree changes.

We dont need new spell icons. We need at the very least a tuning pass, at the very most an entire new heroic tree, and Havoc talent changes.

I’m actually having a lot of fun with my DH… so I’d worry they’d mess things up. However, it absolutely needs a tuning pass, and more synergy between abilities.

I agree! My friends complain when they have to redo their talents and change gear due to balance patches, so I tell them to roll DH and they will only have to adjust talents and gear 2-3 times the entire expansion! We are like Milton from Office Space. The devs thought they deleted the class years ago, but due to a glitch, we are still here. So they “fixed the glitch” by not updating the class, and figure it will just work itself out in the end!

That being said, I have mained DH since Shadowlands and won’t swap to another class. Ride or die baby!

I mostly play casual and competitive PvP

Aldrachi is still crazy clunky and situational, despite the negligible buffs they gave it a few weeks ago. Fel-Scarred remains the most preferred hero talent tree, even though it still underperforms, imo.

There are simply 3 things I feel would make Fel-Scarred DH feel more fluid and in-line with other classes/specs:

  • The base mastery we had during Dragonflight was a lot higher than it is now, due to the Hero Talent “Student of Suffering.” 8sec of mastery buff every Sigil of Flame CD (21-27sec iirc) is often useless. Either return the 21% base mastery from the “Student of Suffering” or increase the duration of said talent and Soul Scar. The GCDs cause us to only really utilize maybe 5 or 6sec of the mastery increase, inside and outside of Meta. If increasing duration, I think adding 1-2 seconds to both abilities would help accommodate for the GCDs.

  • bring back the soul scar application from Blade Dance (tier set from DF). It saved a GCD and was overall more fluid and effective

  • Lastly, DH are a lot more vulnerable to casters since Cleansed by Flame only removes one random effect now - practically useless against heavy root comps with high mobility (especially Frost Mages, Devokers and Shamans). I’d say either bring the mass dispel from Cleansed by Flame back or update Vengeful Retreat or Glimpse to remove roots/slows while grounded.

I dont really care about pvp, never have, and never will. But DHs cant even kill a lot of the NPCs in comp stomp, 1v1 without blowing literally every single cd they have.

And the DK npc? Forget about it, they can just run away while ignoring your pathetic damage. Then turn around and heal to full off you after your meta falls off, and then slowly chip you down.

Our damage is fracking pathetic in PVE. For the amount of work the rotation is, it feels super clunky and aweful. And the old demonic playstyle is just not viable anymore. You have to play inertia.

I used to enjoy the class fantasy of going into meta to deal most of my damage and having to work to spend enough energy to a) extend demon form and B) reduce the cd on eye beams, so I get more demon form.

Now we want to drop demon form to go back into for demon surge.

Honestly, fury warrior feels more like DH did, give heroic leap 2 charges, and give me double jump and glide, and Im done with DH. Plate has better mog anyways.

Here’s the thing. It doesn’t. It’s stronger than Fel Scarred in sustained DPS scenarios.

The issue is that the profile is so BAD (uptime requirements) and the tree is so unbelievable badly designed, that no one plays it.

Buffing it is not the answer, reworking it is.

Delete momentum and inertia. Delete Initiative. Buff Furious gaze. Buff eye beam. Buff fel barrage. Uncap ALL our AoE. Rework reaver.

Easy as.

Oh, and delete those mastery changes. Versatility at least gave us defensive benefits. It was better when we could get 40% leech in demonic with soul rending, stack crit/vers, and then furious gaze our way up passed GCD haste cap.

Perhaps make Darkness actually useful and not a 5 minute CD that barely does anything.
