They clearly just ran out of new ideas and keep using the same things as difficulty like interrupts why you think people get bored of wow nothing new nothing to get excited for.
Or just don’t use any cleave/AoE abilities ?
How is this a challenge ?
WTH.
WTH are you saying.
CC is used every pull of every M+ run. Always.
CC doesn’t up challenge. It’s a counter to challenging damage intake.
You have no clue what you’re talking about at this point.
This. The reason it isn’t hard today is for a slew of reasons that all add up together to make it much easier.
-
Internet speeds/ping. Back in the day, you were lucky to have your abilities go off close to when you hit the keys. The NPCs didn’t have the handicaps we did as packets were sent back and forth which straight up added to their power.
-
Youtube channels, information sites, forums, stat-tracking sites, etc all didn’t exist to tell you how to do everything as efficiently as possible. Even addons were very rudimentary in the early days compared to things like DBM and WeakAuras that we have now.

Because of the above, everyone had MUCH worse gear to the extent that people would be queting/dungeoning in runs with gear 20-30 levels below them. Not because there was some statistal advantages to doing so…but because they didn’t HAVE anything else. They didn’t know where the gear dropped, didn’t have people that could craft something suitable, or didn’t have a gold income that would allow them to just buy the best equipment for the situation.

Gaming as a WHOLE on pc was mostly powered by WoW coming onto the scene. Prior to that, the only MMORPGs that had been major successes were Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies. And they paled in comparison to the monolith that was WoW who also completely changed everything about how MMORPGs worked. Because of this, people didn’t have MMORPG experience going in. Most of the audience had never even gamed on a PC before, let alone understood the ins and outs of a detailed RPG.
Anyways, I feel like I could go on forever listing things but it is the cumulative effect of all these various things adding up that made the original game HARD. Very very HARD. To say it wasn’t is as silly as saying Donkey Kong or Super Mario Bros wasn’t hard because people can speed run them today.
They want to add GCDs to slow down players by requiring interrupts, which are off the GDC?
Lmfao for real tho
Why in the world do I want to have to worry about keeping people off the ground, clearing debuffs and dealing with affixes blizz puts into the higher keys as well as worry about who I need to interrupt next. Better that be left up to the DPS imo…
Bruh lol.
Because interrupting things the DPS misses literally helps alleviate all the other problems you just complained about? If that second Necrotic Burst is about to go off in SMBG and you’re sitting around thinking it’s the DPS’s job so you’re not gonna bother, you’re in for a bad time …
You not knowing how to play the game back then doesn’t mean the game was hard.
Temple of the Jade Serpent is the worst with those jinyu guys… don’t interrupt and it quickly becomes a wipe. Hard when my interrupt is melee (monk) and I had to move away to avoid standing in damage.
This is true - and I do have the roar but it puts you in bear and in keys it’s clunky just like the Bash you can switch it it.
It is a little clunky but what I do is keep healing spells like rejuv/lifebloom/etc on the bear bar because it’s not a global to shift out right, so you can incap roar into bear and then quickly rejuv/lb/swiftmend whatever someone in need and be popped right back into resto without missing much of a beat.
Faster than skull bash anyway since you have to cat shift then SB and incap roar is all one smooth shift GCD and back.
Add ons tell you what to interrupt to lol nice try
Because preventing damage means less healing pressure?
Yeah I feel your pain. I normally have to use my aoe fear, aoe stun, and single target stun just so all the casts just dont get off. One mess up though and it can go south pretty quick.
i dont know why you ask for 3 but sl-s4 was 2 ranged and one melee
*survival hunter/lock/rogue
The movement requirements of M+ make playing a caster one of the worst experiences in modern gaming.
Assuming there is no healing pressure already…
If its used as solely a back up interrupt if the DPS misses then sure, but just as I have very little time to DPS in DF, I would have just as hard of time getting the mob targeted and getting it of while doing the circle dance and casting heals.
I’m aware, i heal relatively high keys and that’s the thing, past a certain key level if people don’t kick the damage isn’t healable, so kicking is actually more effective than healing.
At least on Evoker i have a kick on a 40 seconds CD but that feels really really long.
Sounds like to me they give you one… in case of an emergency…
