Outline mode not working with new plunderstorm update

Quest objectives and other things that were highlighted with outline mode no longer show up in the world. Very difficult to do things when you can’t see the stuff to click on it. Especially when it’s made to blend in. Only way to be able to see things is to disable outline mode and then it shows up with sparkles like a dead enemy to loot.

Adding my voice to this, as well. Outline Mode is set correctly in my options, but no outline.

I’m having the same problem here. Tried turning off all addons. Turning them off one at a time. Made some edits to the config file based on a 4 year old post. All I can get is the sparkles as well if I turn outline mode off. Checked with a couple friends who use a lot of similar addons and they aren’t experiencing the same issue.

Think I found the issue.

I turned off my Anti-Aliasing, and the outlines reappeared.

That worked for me too! Thank you so much it was driving me crazy.

Edit: Disabling and re-enabling fixed it!

Edit the second: Re-enabling anti aliasing does not appear to have been successful. Game says it’s on but surely doesn’t look like it’s on.

Confirmed that in game it says it was on but when I logged out I was able to verify via option on the main menu that it was off. Re-enabled it, game looks terrible without it.

Thank youuu. It was driving me nuts.

THANK YOU!!! This was driving me nuts

Can confirm that disabling and re-enabling AA makes outline mode work again. Cheers!

Fiddling around with all the AA settings, it seems like having any “Multisample techniques” active disables the outlines.

AA Mode “Image Based” : outlines
AA mode “Multisample” : no outlines
AA mode “Advanced” with “Multisample: None” : outlines
AA mode “Advanced” with “Multisample: (any not none)” : no outlines

Hope this helps people & devs. Good workaround but I want my Multisample AA back.

Yes, this does help. Yay, I was becoming so depressed. So used to having the outline on quest objects.

Turn it on then push Spectral Sight on a DH >:)

On my system it’s specifically tied to the “Multisample Techniques” setting. Any setting other than “None” disables outline mode.

Adding my name to the list of people reporting this bug.

Ditto; disabling AA fixes the issue, and can be re-enabled as long as the Multisample Techniques option is set to “None”.

I bet someone forgot to add a semicolon in the spaghetti code…

Thankfully disabling the AA works to get the outlines back.

But not being able to have AA on, along with everything else that has broken or is just not working in this patch just shows how little the devs care about the game.

Had just given up on a quest with dark quest targets against dark backgrounds and found this post. YAY ! Turning off anti-aliasing fixed it and stayed fixed after turning it back on.

Hadn’t messed with any Multisample settings.

Adding to the list of people this affected, and not having multisample Techniques (option: NONE) seems to be the current fix
