Outlaw rogue PVP

Anybody having any success in arenas and bgb? What stat prio and builds are you having success with? Thanks!

I’ve been tinkering around enough to stay Conquest capped and roll over people in BGs occasionally.

Standard crackshot+HO build with Vers specced instead of Dancing Steel.
Run Improved Wound posion if healers exist, otherwise keep Shadowheart.

I’m still running Haste (12-14%)>Vers>Crit on the gear, and do just fine. But you will just get destroyed by Warlocks at the moment, and pretty much anyone with equal gear. Stat scaling has not been nice to us this expansion.

I’d probably stick with wound poison regardless of healers. Wound isn’t a big damage loss anyway and I don’t think anyone at all is taking shadow heart in pvp builds atm. And at least it can still screw with a non-healers self sustain.

And not that I’d personally recommend trickster, but have you tried tricky with the tricks pvp talent? Genuinely curious if that works or not.

It does work, especially well in arenas. It’s a solid flat 15% buff to your arena partner for the entire duration.

Doing very well as outlaw.

I’ve been doing Haste = Mastery > Crit as Trickster Outlaw. If you’re going the route of Fatebound Outlaw, it’s Crit > Haste > Mast. The reason Mastery is far higher up over Crit for Trickster is that Trickster has about twice the proc route for Main Gauche over Fatebound. As far as builds go, just the usual Crackshot build with Swiftslasher + Killing Spree. -Heavy Hitter & Blinding Powder for Blade Flurry talents right side in comps with a lot of pets. For Fatebound, I drop Killing Spree for Thief’s Versatility if I can maintain uptime on the classes (more coins go brrrr).

I like the idea of using trickster as a less crack shot, more killing spree/main gauche build. Be cool if they put more focus on that just to give more build diversity and something besides crack shot build. Versus what hero tree fits crack shot build the best.

I myself been enjoying Outlaw just cause I like the kit more than assassin and I don’t want to be a try hard sweat with sub sometimes. I am hoping the changes in 11.05 really pushes outlaw up a little especially with the sub rogue nerfs coming.

Does unseen blade proc main gauche? Otherwise trickster doesnt do anything to proc it more.

Outlaw builds should be favoriting crit because of the fatebound defensive talent or the 25% builder crit damage in trickster.

The nerf early in the expansion hurt and i dont think outlaw is anything above B tier right now. Its just a worse sub rogue right now

I also would like to know. I know the old flawless form gave a stacking mastery buff, but they changed that.

Yes, Unseen Blade can proc Main Gauche. You can test this via training dummy and removing any on-proc effects (including poisons) then using unseen blade procs by waiting 20s or pressing a 1 CP killing spree. If you’re having a hard time reading the combat logs since Outlaw attacks very fast and has multiple things going on with 1 single button press, you can right click Combat Log → Settings → Under Combat My Actions, you can click “Colors” and adjust the Ability Name and Damage number colors individually on the right side.

As far as crits go, with default crit chance, you can hit a natural 100% crit rate on Between the Eyes with just Ruthless Precision if you run No Scruples as Trickster. Im not sure what the difference is between all the races on Outlaw is for crit chance but anything at or above 10% will yield a natural 100% crit rate for Between the Eyes. The math is pretty much:
12% Base (Human Outlaw) + 10% (No Scruples) + 20% (Between the Eyes) + 60% (Ruthless Precision)

If you’re wondering whats stronger between the 2 Hero Talents atm, Fatebound beats Trickster due to their PvP Multiplier on the coins (specifically heads) and the changes made to their talents. If you exploit the fact you can Coup twice in a single Coup window during Adrenaline Rush for an extra 5 stacks, you can barely edge out the damage difference.
With the change from having Shadowstep to 2 Grappling Hooks, Fatebound is going to dominate in PvP for Outlaw because mobility is king in arenas whether it be 1v1ing others or fighting in Rated Games.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the 1st attack on Coup doesn’t benefit from Flawless Form… yippie

Well I’ll be it does. Took a lot of testing to get it. Looks like trickster going to stack that mastery
