Outlaw Rogue needs to be a tank

SoD has shown that Rogues can be excellent tanks.

THe game also seriously lacks tanks. Giving the rogue an option to tank would go a long way to addressing 2 main problems.

First… the lack of tanks
Second, the absolute garbage state that outlaw rogues are currently in

I can get behind Rogues being Tanks, but switching Outlaw from the swashbuckling pirate theme to being a tank I think is the wrong move.

I say, give Rogues a 4th Spec, nameis Ronin/Samurai, allow them to use 2-Handed Swords (and maybe Maces), with a theme on Parrying and Counters, and you have yourself a pretty cool Tank Spec!

As for the Outlaw Spec itself, I agree that something needs to happen to balance its theme out, especially with Roll the Bones, as outside of its theme (into the mechanical gameplay numbers) it doesn’t feel entirely fulfilling having to rely on the Roll the Bones Buff, or make the RtB Buff last a whole minute with minimal refresh, like Slice and Dice. Also, we need more Cannonball and Pirate themed abilities!

It basically used to be an emergency tank, as it had both Evasion and Reposte [Parry Evasion] with the highest survivability of any spec. That was taken away too, because ‘wah! grappling hook’.

Now the only thing Outlaw is useful for is using Cloak to soak a raid mechanic, that’s it. Rogue is useless otherwise, it’s basically a DPS with 30% nerfed damage that can soak one extra mechanic each fight.

Because algebruh hard for middle management ‘devs’.

Yeah Combat and Sub used to have high agility and with Evasion you could be an emergency tank.

I emergency tanked a heroic in WotLK. Halls of Reflection, Marwyn the second boss. Healer dispelled the DoT and the increased damage killed the tank.

Used Dismantle and Evasion.

I was very proud of myself lol.

And I was able to finish the Quel’Delar Cunning of the Shadows epic questline for my sword.

Rogue tanking for the win!
