I’m looking to make a rogue as my alt to quest and maybe BG because I kinda dig the concept, but I hate melee in dungeons and raids. Basically, I’d like to pretend I’m Bronn from GoT for awhile.
Outlaw suggests its not stealth reliant, and is more of a scrappy sell-sword type toon. Is that accurate, and is it viable? Again, I’m not going ape with this guy, just having some fun.
It’s still somewhat stealth reliant as it’s still a Rogue wearing leather armor, but your offensive cooldowns aren’t attached to stealth as much as Assasination or Sub.
Sounds like warrior may be a better fit for your specific roleplay.

As was said above me, there is no real offensive benefit to being in stealth for pve. Its good to be willing to sap and skip packs in dungeons and it is vital for decent CC and defense in pvp.
The concept is super fun and I personally think blade flurry is about the greatest part of any melee kit… i mean you are swinging swords maces and axes around and you don’t cleave in front of you? For 2 hnd users to have weak aoe is even funnier. 2 daggers I much better understand.
Back to Bronn. I think outlaw would fit thay pretty well and if you just plan on playing it more casually the armor thing shouldnt worry you. Crimson vial and a little leech do wonders for your hp bar next to feint, and the other defensives you get.
I had my hunter as a human with 2 mastifs following me around playing a ramsay bolton character and that was pretty damn fun for a while.

You could always go hunter, use a crossbow and have a lion as a pet
