Outlaw rework ideas?

Outlaw as forced pirate theme and weak aura juggling is killing the spec. Unfortunately, I don’t think the recent rework is cutting it.

Outlaw can be a bridge between hunter and rogue. Duel weird 1H weapon with ranged abilities. Not just a pistol but maybe a crossbow or bow too…. Less RNG and more sustain please.

better pistol maybe, or returning axe

Roll all of the RtB buffs either strait into Outlaw, and make some of them talents. Otherwise I’d say it’s in a pretty good spot atm.

-Do something to lessen the variance in damage output of Roll the Bones. Some of the bonuses suck and should be changed.
-Outlaw needs a way to bypass armor. Assassination has bleeds, subtlety has find weakness and deals shadow damage. Outlaw should have its own unique dot. Hunters use to have a talent called exotic munitions. I think that would be a good fit for outlaw.

Wish we were “Combat” rogues from TBC.

My only issue is to just remove roll the bones. It’s super annoying.

Unfortunately, outlaw on live is suffering from success. Its very good with the new season 4set, but the 4set (and 2set) provides a massive amount of normalization to the variance, and it is absolutely tuned around that.

Even in sims, the difference in variance between outlaw with and without t31 is huge. I dont necessarily agree with this design decision, but the hope would be its fixed when we head into 11.0 and lose our t31s.

I get jealous of how Demon Hunter plays (minus transforming into a Deamon) and wish Rogues were like that.

Roll the Bones and Pistol shooting is awful.

RTB variance is an issue but BlizZard is afraid of making some RTB talents baseline and rebalancing that way.

Outlaw just keeps getting worse. Its such an easy spec to do right and they keep finding new ways to do it wrong.

Ya I’m not feeling this new Outlaw spec tree, imho it’s worse considering the way I like to play Rogue.

I had a decent spec where I did decent damage and didn’t have vanish in my rotation. Seems now they want to force you to stealth and vanish in your rotation if you want good dps.

I’m a die hard Combat Rogue and miss the option to play like one.

Thanks for ruining my fun…/smh

I really really want to like outlaw, but I am absolutely struggling with watching the ui vs watching what is happening in combat.

Tracking procs, crackshot windows, cooldowns, etc is just a lot for me.

Maybe I’m getting too old for rogue?

Previous to legion, I could play combat blind because of how predictable it was. I miss that deeply.

  • Roll the bones is lame (rng is lame)
  • Outlaw should get a revamped and updated form of expose armor mechanic.
  • Pirate theme should be optional via glyphs.

This version of outlaw is def one of the hardest designs we’ve had so far. The entire rotation is about fueling crackshot windows, and crackshow windows are (imo) the hardest pure dps windows to pull off in the game cooldown wise.

The entire window is purely reactionary (Ambush/SS procs, Ace procs) and you will have a 0.8s a majority of the time for it, meaning your time to get the proc, react to it, and queue up the correct input is very tight. And you need to be doing this constantly for about half the fight in T31.

Outlaw is definity a very hard spec to pull off right now. The punishment for making mistakes is also higher then S1 or S2 outlaw was, so you need to be on point delivering those perfect crackshot windows all fight.

it plays really well once you get the hang of the crackshot rotation.

With 4p the better build will actually be kir not HO. Its going to make RTB the most consistent its ever been for outlaw. So you also wont need to worry about ambush proc, but you have to learn the KIR roll logic on top of messing up vanish + dying will be more punishing

I liked when it was Combat, just go further down that route like it naturally should have gone

I am a long time very dedicated combat/ outlaw player. 1st outlaw is simply a better name than combat. I enjoy outlaw’s play style for the most part. I understand people not liking the pirate theme, but that’s mostly gone. Roll the bones (after qol changes) is superior to bandit’s guile. Could be better if they baked the 2 improvement talents into it and made it perfect and then added 2 different talents.
I don’t like the forced shadow dance, even though shadow dance is probably the best pvp talent. Offers cc and/ or damage. I personally think that belongs to subtlety.
I would like to see outlaw focus on what made combat rogue so good. In your face do’s, with pistol shot ranged. Make that great.
