It will be a little while before I’m level 58 and walking through the Dark Portal. I do not plan to spend time in Azeroth getting great gear because I recall the Outland quest gear is a big step up. I’d like to start to level in dungeons by tanking as soon as I am able.
Is there a list of early quest gear that would enable me to tank Ramparts at 59 or 60? I’ve seen a lot of gear guides, but nothing quite like I’m looking for.
Look for BoE greens on the AH. Outland gear can be as low as 57. You’ll notice that it has significantly higher stats than vanilla gear of the same level.
There are a ton of quest rewards at the beginning. Plus, there will be BoE Greens on the AH to fill in any gaps that are quite good as the above poster said.
Still, you’ll likely want to be 60 minimum as a tank just for the extra chance hit, defense, etc. just to ensure a smooth run.

The first run of quests in outlands will get you basically a full set of green gear.
So people were crying about the boost gear for nothing? 
The normal dungeons really aren’t that bad, I’d just start at 58 tbh.
Heroics I’m assuming will still require some CC and more gear.
