Outland Blacksmithing is a Mess (Alliance)

Armorsmith/Weaponsmith quests are no longer available. Yet, the blacksmith trainer in Stormwind still directs you to the Great Forge to see Grumnus Steelshaper, who btw, is no longer in Ironforge, but in Loch Modan at the Inn.

I’m working on Outland Blacksmithing, but once I hit skill lvl 60, majority of the plans can only be acquired if you’re weaponsmith or armorsmith (no longer obtainable). Which makes the grind of finishing Outland Blacksmithing a lot more difficult. I’ve already bought all neutral/rep required plans. But none them are for the 60-65 range. Adamantite Rod Recipe was removed, since that Rod is no longer used.

It’s also hard to keep track of my current progress. Every time I reopen the blacksmith tab. It’s reset, I’ve to select has “skill up” and minimize the other expansions. And it says Catacylsm at the top. It cannot be changed. Can’t keep track of my current interest.

I saw this in the CS Forum, so I wanted to add some info for you. If you head to this website:

They will guide you through 60-75. They give three different paths (Aldor, Scryer, or Dungeons), depending on which you prefer or which mats are cheaper on the AH.

This doesn’t really change your suggestion. I’m with you, and wouldn’t like having unlearned recipes sitting out there. So it should be addressed. But hopefully, the guide above will help you hit 75 without waiting for a possible change.
