Any chance this can get looked into?
Getting out of combat varies way too much.
Sometimes you can run across 1/2 a battleground (or more lol) before getting dropped from combat. (in AV with the NPC’s running after you its even worse)
Should be capped at something like 5 seconds. If you don’t get attacked in 5 seconds you drop combat.
Not sure if any Blizz employee will even read this but yeah.

For player vs player combat it already drops after about 5 seconds.
For NPCs you stay in combat until they leash.

Is your suggestion that in battlegrounds specifically NPC combat should behave more like player combat where it drops if you’re not hitting or hit by a NPC for 5 seconds?

My suggestion is it should ALWAYS drop at the same amount of time in PvP combat.
As it currently stands its always different.
5 seconds was a suggestion, but it shouldn’t be much longer than that in my opinion

It already does drop at the same time in PvP combat. The time is like 5-6 seconds. However there are certain things that can keep you in combat, such as DoT abilities that have a random damage proc that can sometimes put you back in combat. And I agree those inconsistencies should be fixed, DoTs shouldn’t put you or keep you in combat from ticking.

there is also an ability called ‘absolutely nothing i can see that is keeping me in combat while i am spamming prowl for around 20 seconds behind a los object’ that made me make this post.

Was it an epic battleground with NPCs? One could have been aggro’d on you that you didn’t see.

But yeah I’ve had that exact same issue before even in normal battlegrounds with no NPCs. For me it’s very rare, but it’s something I’ve seen for literally years. Really annoying being stuck in combat and unable to mount up to the next objective. I’ve even wasted my shadowmeld cooldown just to be able to mount before.

I hear you. Likely due to a bug.

It’s the worst on my Demo lock with all the pets, seems like it takes forever sometimes to get out of combat can be frustrating

The leashing on pets should be shorter.
